Hope it's okay to post this ... it's been a couple of days.
The question was raised as to bringing DS9 characters to "Picard." For me, it would be bittersweet. I could not imagine seeing Kira without Odo, and I would not want them to kill Odo off onscreen. Nor would I want a recast of Odo. For me, Rene is forever THE Odo. Having another actor play Odo would be like recasting Nog, Lwaxana, The Female Changeling, etc. It just wouldn't work. Let those who have passed away serve as the only portrayers of their precious characters. If they bring Kira to the Picard universe, I would hope at least it's referred to that she and Odo are romantically still together (like Troi/Riker). But a recast? No. If Nana was asked, I imagine she might consider it. But I'm not sure she'd want to play opposite somebody else as Odo ... because she and Rene "got" each other. It was their bond that sold the friendship and romantic relationship between Kira and Odo. Again, I wouldn't mind if they mention Odo ... but say that he's off acting as a delegate somewhere and Kira (his wife  ) is taking care of things to help Picard. But not as a vedek. Please do NOT kill off Odo.__________________

I don't think it would ... but some have mentioned bringing Kira back since they brought back 7. I'd rather picture Kira on DS9/Bajor with Odo living happily. I do NOT want them messing with the canon ending of Kira and Odo reunited and happy. No way.
I agree with you -- leave the DS9 characters alone. __________________
