'Star Trek' Star Jonathan Frakes to Direct an Episode of 'V'

Jonathan Frakes, best known for his portrayal of Commander William T. Riker in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and as David Xanatos in the animated television series, Gargoyles, has joined the cast of ABC's V. Instead of flaunting his acting skills however, the 57-year-old actor is working behind the cameras as director.

According to The V Files, Frakes is directing the sixth episode of V, which kicked off production on February 16. The said episode called for the casting of a new character, John May, which recently went to Battlestar Galactica's sexy Cylon Michael Trucco.

This is not a first for Frakes, who has been busy directing in recent years. As a director, he is also credited for Star Trek: First Contact as well as Star Trek: Insurrection, which earned him the nickname Two-Takes Frakes for his speed.

I really need to give The Big Bang Theory a try. I'll have to remember to find out which eppy Wil will be in and watch.

Fell in love with this show and I've been watching S1 and a couple of ST actors have popped up. Jonathan Frakes has directed 2 eppy's and had a cameo and also Brent Spiner was in the last eppy I saw (which Jonathan directed) and also Armin Shimerman made an appearance..

He has, I think 'Boston Legal' did a big favour for him..
