I don't think the ratings were ever as good as they had hoped.

The studio decision-makers probably believed all Trek fans are fanatics that will watch anything with the Star Trek name and like it.

That's a nice pic of Archer. Interesting lighting.

I agree the third season was quite unappealing but that was maybe caused by a lack of creativity put into it as well as the general boredom of the plot.

Much of what was done in the third season was creative. The problem was dragging the story out for an entire season. The Xindi story would have been very interesting if it had been shorter. Making it last a whole season required the majority of episodes to be time-filler. No amount of creativity can save such a situation. In fact, in my opinion, the entire run of the show had lots of creativity, but channelled in the wrong directions.

Klingon. Welcome to Fan Forum and to the Star Trek board.
Ouy - agree that the Xindi storyline could have been interesting if it was greatly condensed instead of the focus for the whole season. People got bored with it, and the show lost viewers. __________________

Well gentlebeings, I have good news. I am going to start watching ENT.I have special ordered the series' final season on DvD. I should get it in a week's time and will start soon after. I tried once before to watch ENT on DvD but did not finish it. So I am trying again.

I managed to watch the final season with only skipping three or four episodes. Although I should have skipped a few more. Such as the idiotic episode explaining why Klingons in TOS looked different than later Klingons. Even though three Klingons from TOS showed up in DS9 with updated make-up. And their choice of Romulan uniforms? Some of the episodes are all right though.
