It does. It's been a long time since I've started an episode discussion thread.

First she is on the shenzou (PR ship for the chinese tv market) but then likely after these first two eps she is on the discovery I assume.

The Enterprise finale aired May 15, 2005 - so over 12 years.

It's awesome that we're getting to do this again!

I can see it on the 25th!

I hope to watch it live, but if not, hopefully I'll get to it on Monday.

My first thoughts on this episode were it was slow to start, and I was a little unclear who the characters were or what they were doing, for a while.

I'm not sure about the new look of the Klingons. The reason I knew they were Klingons was because of the fact they were speaking Klingon. It took me most of the episode to get used to them.

The Federation ship was full of lights but was actually dark and shadowy, quite a different feel to the whole programme due to this.

It was nice to get some background on our main characters, and I had a good sense who they were by the end of the episode.

It was an unexpected twist for the first officer to commit mutiny, not something you normally see on Star Trek.

The special effects were very pretty, even if the whole effect was dark and claustrophobic.

As much as it took a little while to really get going, it was well in it's stride by the end, and I was eager to see the next episode.

It was a bit slow to start, but it did establish that there's more than a working relationship between Captain Georgiou and First Officer Burnham.

I do not like the new look of the Klingons. Hubby pointed out that they have changed their appearance several times over the course of the series. Although I guess this current look is the most alien looking, if that makes sense.

The space walk was interesting.

The mutiny was an unexpected twist.

Not sure what to think of the opening sequence. It doesn't seem very Star Treky until the ending, and I liked the throwback to TOS music.

Quite the cliff hanger. I would have been disappointed if I couldn't watch the next episode right away.

The Klingons really looked silly but their ships looked even more silly. Their motivations were pretty damn stupid as well. Nobody's seen a Klingon in one hundred years yet they're somehow worried of being polluted by the rest of the galaxy?

Apart from that, I didn't think there were any compelling characters in this show. That said, I'll certainly keep watching. The theme sequence was cool.

That struck me as a bit weak too. Although if they realized the Federation was becoming more active in deep space, perhaps they wanted to nip it in the bud?

I don't feel like I can care about the characters at the moment, but usually that comes later with me so I'll wait.

I found it incredibly dull, and the music was not at all exciting, I skipped it the second time. The throwback was good but didn't save the sequence for me.
