Chris Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983 in Melbourne, Australia. Chris travelled with his family throughout different parts of Australia. He even worked the cattle ranch of his aunt and uncle in the Northern Territory, an indigenous region.

As a teen, Hemsworth learned how to surf and did well in athletics including the hurdles, water polo and football.

Chris moved to Sydney after being cast in Home and Away where he played the son of a school principle. In 2004, Chris was nominated for Best New Talent and the Silver Logie. He was nominated Best New Actor in 2004 by the UK Magazine Inside Soap. He was crowed Best Hottie by Nickelodeon. Dolly awarded him Prince of TV and would later award him King of Teen.

In 2007, Chris Hemsworth was cast to play the role of George Kirk in Star Trek (2009). In May 2009, Chris Hemsworth was cast the lead role in the Red Dawn remake. Also in May 2009, Chris Hemsworth was cast to play the role of the god of thunder, Thor.

Thanks for getting this started Ally.

Patrick Swayze, one of the stars of the original Red Dawn movie died yesterday. If I'm not mistaken, his role is the one Chris will be portraying in the new movie.

Yea, you're right. I bet that would have been hard on the people working on it. He'll never be able to see it.

And you're welcome, guys!

Maybe they'll do a dedication to him in the credits.

No, I didn't! And it's not in theatres anymore I don't think. I can never make it to the movies anymore. I rarely go.

Me neither. The theatre in town is only open June-August, and has one screen. Obviously that limits the selection of movies. So, it has to be something I'm willing to go out of town to see and I'm not sure that Perfect Getaway is really my cup of tea anyways.

It's ancient. The sound system leaves something to be desired. They replaced the seats a couple of years back, but they're still not what you'd get in the city. It would never get an operating license today. the washrooms are down a full flight of stairs ... no handicapped access.

I never thought of him as tall in Trek.

Oh man, that's crazy! I know you live in that small town, but whoa with the stairs and stuff!

Yea, he's a beast. When he's standing beside Captain Robau at the elevator, you can see he's a big boy.
