14 seems far too short. But overall they made good use of the time they had this season.

It's good to have a coherent story arc, but it would be nice to have a couple of standalone episodes in between.

I have mixed thoughts. A casual viewer would appreciate more stand alone episodes. As a regular viewer, it's nice to see the story build over the course of the season. I do wonder how it might do in syndication when there's a definite advantage to watching the episodes in order.
