While on a mission, Lorca unexpectedly finds himself in the company of prisoner of war Starfleet Lieutenant Ash Tyler and notorious intergalactic criminal Harry Mudd.
Guest starring Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd.

 I'm looking forward to this one.:D

Looks like it's a more traditional captain centric episode. Sounds interesting. I hope mudd is funny and not too serious and dark.

Mudd makes his appearance!

Thanks for starting Chris

Me too. The show could use a bit of humour.

I wasn't able to watch tonight. Hopefully tomorrow.

This episode was pretty good! I wanted to SLAP Saru though!

Meliana 10-16-2017 05:05 AM

Mudd was pretty funny, especially when he got left behind!

My dislike for Saru increased throughout the episode, but at the end he managed to turn things around and gain my sympathy at last.

Tilly was supportive of Michael during this episode which was nice, and Michael seems to be opening up to her a little.

Stamets did the right thing, which was awesome, although something weird seemed to happen to him at the end...

I like that they have a gay relationship front and centre in this episode.

I had to look away during the torture: I hate things to do with eyes.

Overall I really enjoyed this episode, it feels like the show has really got into its stride, and it's nice to see relationships starting to form.

I didn't buy the doctor character or why anyone would care that much about hurting the tardograde. For that matter I thought the tardo grade useling an alien mould to transport the ship around the galaxy was ill conceived

I'm only half way through so I'm not reading comments but prisoner guy has a point, Starfleet did bring war upon itself by deciding to boldly go places.

They didn't do half bad with who they cast to play Mudd.

That's very true!

I agree, it was very good casting.

I really like the new addition to the crew but I don't feel like we can trust him

I'm finding that concept hard to buy into. As a sci-fi fan, you learn to buy into alternate possibilities, but the whole spore drive thing just seems ridiculous to me.

Agree with you there. You can't expect everybody you meet to be friendly, and some xenophobia is to be expected. Originally I wondered about the casting for Mudd, but thought he did well in the role.

It's interesting to see a homosexual relationship portrayed on the show. Knowing that they're together helps explain some of the banter between them in the last episode.

I don't mind Saru. He doesn't strike me as Captain material though. Thought it was nice to have him asking the computer about traits of good commanding officers. And it was nice to see Johnathon Archer listed on the screen. Intriguing that his threat things started to go up as soon as Michael walked on the bridge.

They care because they have what is called empathy and compassion. And not only were they forcing it (a sentient creature) to do something against its will, they were also torturing/slowly killing it- which is unethical. I would care too and try to find some other way if I was in their position.

Thought this was a good eppy :)

- i like Michael, Lily and Stamets working together to help the alien and eep Stamets at the end!, and I like that Lily and Michael are becoming buddies
- Good intro of Mudd, wonder if we will see hum again?
- So the Captain escaped the Klingons and have got a new crew member in the process.
- Good to see the list of Captains on the computer
- So Saru becomes Captain, must admit didn't really like his decisions, but he still got the best outcome
- Nice scene with Lily and Michael setting the alien free..
- Good ending scene with Stamets and the Doc :D, hope we see more of their relationship :)
