Hope I can catch the repeat tomorrow night but 11pm if I miss the repeat - I'll probably still watch Monday, not too late

Watched it this morning, and absolutely loved this episode!

I loved how most of the episode followed Micheal's perspective, it was a bold choice to show her interactions with the crew, and the audience sees the strange goings-on completely in the dark as she is too. It was nice to see something different, in that it's not all drama on the bridge. I found myself invested more and more in Micheal, and wanting to see her make friends on board.

The away mission was creepy, scary, the darkness lit only by torches built up the tension in an Alien-type way.

The scene in the canteen of no one wanting her to sit with them was a bit of cliche, but it was handled well. The theme did seem to be based on being the unpopular one at school.

Despite this I was gripped by the story from beginning to end.

Totally loved the twist at the end!

I enjoyed it too. Liked that Michael recognizes that the attempted mutiny was wrong, and that she should be punished for her actions.

Agree about the canteen scene, but it is natural that others would be wary of her.

Liked that Saru emphasized that he was First Officer now.

Tilly the room mate!

Not sure how much Michael has learned though when she stole her room mate's DNA to access another part of the lab.

The darkness was effective to create mood, but I hope they don't overuse it.

It's sweet that Michael carries a copy of "Alice in Wonderland" that Amanda Grayson gave her, and shared it with Tilly!! Not much info in regards to Spock, but it would seem that he's been born.

Felt it was a good introduction to Captain Gabriel Lorca.

Not sure what to think of Paul Stamets

As to the twist at the end ...

certainly different than any other ST show, and I think the novelty feels fresh

I'm still iffy on Michael after the last 2 episodes but I do like SMG so I hope I get used to the character at least.

Still loving Doug Jones as Saru. I don't mind the dark tone but like a lot of other shows it also seems to interpret "dark" as darkly lit as well.

I liked the introduction to Capt Lorca and usually like JI as an actor so I'm definitely willing to see where this goes.

I thought they were paying homage to Aliens with that scene

oh, that could very well be. I didn't think of it that way until you mentioned it.

For me, SMG = Sarah Michelle Gellar, and couldn't believe that I didn't recognize her, but then I realized that SMG = Sonique Martin-Green
