I'm thinking Lorca is gonna get his science on and dissect the creature after helping it to kick the bucket......

Yeah, I think Lorca wanted to learn more about the creature. Hopefully they have a strong containment field for it.

I guess so too. But given he has some body pieces and skeletons around there, he comes of a bit like a creep in that scene.

It was a bit creepy, but people do collect and display trophies.

That's true, but given rodenberry's vision of a more developped humanity it seems a bit eccentric in that century. But from the beginning I had the feeling that the modern times were not so much his thing, when he talked about his family business being outdated by the future.

little eccentricities and quirks like that help flesh out a character.

Rewatched the episode as it was last one I saw before catching up on latest 3

Again loved Alice in Wonderland related to Burnham saying it in the tube plus her giving it to her roommate

Again again loved the reference to adopted mother related to Spock's mother indicating that the timeline CAN match if this is just shy of being before TNG

Last scene is still WTF "Here kitty kitty: but love love seeing Jason Issac

Also feel something between Cap and the security officer lady she looks familiar to me [BSG?]
Was right that I recognized her from BSG Rekha Sharma who was Tory which was a character didn't actually like
