Gaius Baltar & Caprica Six

Gaius Baltar is a brilliant scientist but a very flawed individual. Caprica Six is a beautiful, intelligent and mysterious woman who he's been dating for two years...


Finally one day she reveals the truth about herself. Their unholy relationship leads to the almost complete annihilation of humanity...

Gaius joins the survivors as they flee for their lives (without revealing his part in what happened of course).



He starts seeing visions of Caprica Six, giving him advice, guiding him, leading him to some sort of destiny... and playing mind games with him as well... She can even slam his head into the wall.. but no one except him can see her and they think he's just crazy.

Later we catch up with Caprica Six and find out that she too has Gaius stuck in her head...




This storyline in season two proves that despite how selfish he may seem, he does have real feelings for Caprica Six.

Scott & Shelby

Shelby and Scott continued to grow closer, despite the fact that their classmates found it weird. When Scott's past came back and he was forced to face it, Shelby was there fro him. He decided to run away and asked her to join him. She decided not to given that Horizon was the only safe place she knew, but she did help him come up with a plan. At the last minute she had second thoughts and began to worry about Scott. She informed a councilor of Scott's escape and in turn he was found. Scott understood why she did what she did and they continued to grow closer.

Scott Barringer- I always thought that if anyone ever found out about my step mom, about what happened, I thought if I ever told anyone, I'd never be able to look at them again.
Shelby Merrick- You can look at me, can't you?
Scott Barringer- You're beautiful.


Soon Scott begins to wonder about Shelby's past. 'You know all my worst stuff' he tells her. But, he worries because he doesn't know much about her. All he knows is that she was sent to Horizon after running away from home too many times. He tries to talk to her, but she always finds a way to avoid the subject. She even ditches him one night when they had planned to meet at the docks to talk. His worry turns to anger. During a group hike everything comes to a head.

Shelby completely ignores Scott after receiving an upsetting phone call from her mother. Scott tries to talk to her, but she says that she wants to be left alone. He finally confronts her about it and they argue. In the middle of the woods the scream and shout. Scott finally realized that Shelby was abused by her step father. The realization hits him like a ton of bricks and Shelby denies it. She eventually breaks down. Later Scott learns more about her past, things that he finds hard to accept. This causes a rift between them. They begin to fight more and more. But, during a storm they realize what is important.

When Shelby goes missing in the middle of a huge storm, Scott risks his life to save her. After this they being to work things out again. But, just when they are at their best another shocking phone call changes things. Shelby's mother wants her to come home. She had not choice. Not knowing how to say goodbye, Shelby leaves with out telling Scott. He is devastated. More than that, he is scared because he knows that her home is unsafe. After Shelby leaves, Scott becomes distant and angry. The group doesn't know what to do.

But, miraculously Shelby returns. Scott is overjoyed, but the couple still faces some challenges. They work through everything and finally except each other 100 percent. Then, the couple is faced with one last hurdle. Scott's father thinks that he is ready to come home. Scott tries to convince Shelby that they can have a long distance relationship, but she says no. They say goodbye in a heartbreaking scene...

But, it isn't over. If you like happy endings that you are in for a treat. During Horizons prom, Scott surprised Shelby and shows up.

Shelby: Why'd you come back?
Scott: Because... 'cause I love you.

This couple is full of angst, but they always over come a lot with one another. The actors have wonderful chemistry and work great together. Although the show only lasted one season, Scott and Shelby made it truly memorable. So, I encourage everyone to check them out.
