The West Wing Couples - Because They All Deserve Some Loving!

I know we already have a Josh/Donna thread on the board, but well... that's not all there is, isn't it. And I'd feel bad to just babble on about everyone else on their thread: hence this thread. I hope there are some people around here who enjoy the show, its characters and all the UST there is. CJ/Toby? Abbey/Jed? Leo/Margaret? Donna/Amy? etc. Anything goes. What do you enjoy? Let's get some discussion going.

Did anyone else want Sam to get with Ainsley? That's the one couple I always thought had potential (apart from J/D of course!) as well as Josh & Joey. I loved these two women and wish they had been (Ainsley)/were (Joey) around more

Sam/Ainsley - actually I can't remember feeling so strongly for any other couple I ever shipped in the past. They were just so totally cute - both somewhat dysfunctional, yet smart as hell and together they were perfect. I

how Ainsley says his name. It's that whining and stretching it to more than one syllable.

d how he fired those mean guys for her. They really had so much chemistry and potential.

Then I know it's an unpopular point of view, but I liked Josh/Mandy. I liked how he got all jealous and insecure in the pilot when they were at the restaurant and he talked down Lloyd Russell - he was so petty: "I thought he was gay. You're sure he's not gay? He looks so femine. I actually thought he's a woman."

- Then I loved that scene where she came to his office and gave him the picture where she scribbled on his face with a pen. They had some cute scenes in early season 1.

I wasn't so happy about season 3, but I really liked those little scenes between Margaret/Bruno - something tells me he knew her name right from the start, he was just very bad at flirting.

I was totally in love with her accent

I loved that she whipped Sam's butt when they first met, and that he was still so sweet to her. And he played that music for her, which I can't remember the name of, when they finally welcomed her. There was definite potential there!

Actually, I was a big fan of all of Sam's potential love interests, including Laurie and Mallory. I didn't really understand why they always just flitted these actresses in, had them spar with Sam for three or four episodes, then got rid of them

Who am I kidding? I just love Rob Lowe, so the more screen time he had the better

I was never a huge fan of Mandy. I felt bad that she just disappeared though, I thought she deserved more than that. At least she lives on with the flattering reminder of Mandyville

I love the idea of Sam and Ainsley. Actually, I just love Ainsley so much and I miss her!

I love the chemistry between CJ and Toby. I would never really want them to be in a relationship, but I love their flirtation

I love Josh&Donna but I also like Charlie&Zoey, Toby&CJ, Leo&lawyer and Sam&Ainsley. Also thought Sam had good chemistry with Donna and Mallory and hated that they kept dropping CJ&Danny because they were sweet together.

I'm not just the usual Josh/Donna shipper: I also adore the (conventionnal I'll admit

) Jed/Abby (the funniest things come out of Jed's mouth when he tries to seduce his wife

) and CJ/Toby (all those flirtatious remarks...

). CJ/Danny was so cute too and I was distraught when they sort of abandoned the whole thing until he came back (I think it's at the end of season four or beginning of season five, I'm not sure but I saw some clips).

Of all of Sam's potential love interests, I must say though that Ainsley was the one with whom I thought Sam had the best chemistry. It was funny to see all those times Sam getting beaten up by that funny girl and it was touching the way Sam got angry and fired the two guys who sent Ainsley the bouquet with the bitch note.

I've never been fond of Mallory who often argued with Sam for the sake of arguing and seemed like, most of the time, she wanted to cause Sam pain by telling him for example how she and what's his name-the hockey player- were having great sex. That's not love: I think that is simply mean spirited. When you're with someone else, you're supposed to be content with what you have and not rub it on someone else's face just to make him jealous. At least that's what I thought where the whole Mallory thing was conerned.

I've never really been fond of Charlie/Zoey, as I thought Zoey didn't deserve a sweet guy like Charlie. Don't get me wrong, I like Zoey but I hate the way she treats Charlie, even when she was going out with him.

On the Josh front, it's always been about Donna in my opinion but I thought he would have been cute too with Joey Lucas. But Joey Lucas knew right away when she saw Donna and the way she interacted with Josh how that was not gonna be possible. I haven't seen much of Amy yet (I have yet to see seasons 3 & 4 even though I already know what's gonna happen) so I can't pass judgement on Josh/Amy. And as for Mandy, well I thought she was always more of a friend than an ex lover of Josh's. And quite frankly, she bore me to tears and apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought so since as of the second season, Mandy mysteriously disappeared and sadly for her, practically nobody gave a damn as nobody noticed she was gone.

I love how CJ and Toby flirt. She (and Ginger) are really the only people who can get him to show any kind of kindness/emotion and I really like that.

I also really liked CJ and Danny. I recently saw the arc of the Inaugaration and I loved how she showed him exactly how she could "have him." It was genius. And of course, I LOVED the goldfish

I agree! I really, really loved Ainsley and I really loved that even though they had dichotomous (sp?) political ideologies, they could have a good spar and have that flirty innuendo throughout.

Yeah, I never really got into the whole Mallory thing. I thought it was funny when Leo was trying to keep them apart, but I never really saw any chemistry or anything.

I loved Zoey and Charlie together in the first season. But when she came back with that French guy, I didn't really like her at all. And I didn't like the way Charlie was pining after her either.

I've never been a Josh/Donna fan, but again, I watched the Inaugaration arc the other day on Bravo and I saw the chemistry between them. If their relationship was written the way that the snowball scene was written, I think I could handle it.

I did like him with Joey Lucas. She was so awesome and really kept him on his toes.

honestly I never really cared about Sam until Ainsley came along and when I first heard about them I thought NEVER because I usually don't like the beautiful people. They bore me. But when I saw them first on screen together I knew that's so perfect.

I also agree on Ainsley's accent - that's so cute.

As for Mallory - I agree with everything you said Cathangel. Furthermore I had the feeling she never really listened to what Sam had to say and she disagreed with him just for the hell of it. I always thought she put all of her frustration and unfinished business that lay in her relationship with her father in her relationship with Sam. I think it would've never worked out because of that. So basically what I liked about the whole thing was when Leo tried to sabotage them going out - that was kind of funny. All shipping aside, Leo is my favourite character on the show.

On Laurie - I really like Lisa Edelstein, so I enjoyed seeing her on tWW. Yet I think it was clear from the beginning that there couldn't be a relationship and what was there was pretty... cliché and kind of boring, IMHO. Sorry.

So, anyone wants to speculate about what's going to happen to the different West Wing pairings this season?

I predict a huge development happening between Josh and Donna, but that's a no brainer.

Anyone else worried about how Jed and Abby are doing? We haven't seen much of them since their season opener fight. It seems like there is much left unsaid.

We're actually talking season 6 here?

I must admit I've only seen 1, 2 and 3 so far. We don't get it on TV here, so I must rent the DVDs. As far as I know season 4 is coming out on DVD in the UK in Novembre - so I hope my video rental place will get it then. After I got beyond my initital shock of Emily Procter and Rob Lowe leaving and slowly got... well okay is too much said, but you know what I mean... with it, I must say I thought about d/l-ing just for the sake of seeing Leo, Amy and everyone but then I have so much stuff to d/l.

I agree though that I always thought in season 3 that they could have/should have got deeper into the Jed/Abbey thing - it was like, this big drama in the beginning and then she was hardly there

I still have some trouble seeing sparks between Josh/Amy - not that I'm prejudiced by J/D or anything... it's just... I don't know. Amy is great though. Got to love MLP.

Oh and I loved that scene where he brought Tahiti to his living room for her. That was cute. Not very original but cute.
