this is a fan thread dedicated to the Arthur Conan Doyle characters, their coupling, and the 2009 Warner Bros. movie as well as other adaptations.

Because she is and always will remain to him The Woman.
Because her photograph and the sovereign she gave him in return for being witness at her wedding were two of his most favored possessions.
Because she is the only woman to ever have outwitted him, and he "admired her for it".
Because, while she only appears in one story, Holmes mentions her often.
Because everyone is making theories about them getting together after the Last Problem, therefore everyone wants them together.
Because she is the only woman ever to be paired up with Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself.
Because her first appearance, A Scandal in Bohemia, is coincidentally the first short story in the canon.
Because they are so canon.
Because she has the face of the most beautiful of women, and the mind of the most resolute of men, and Holmes "admired her for it".
Because he seems to have developed a crush on her.
Because (in the movie) she constantly flirts with him.
Because (in the BBC series) he is totally jealous of Godfrey Norton.
Because they are practically made for each other!
