Arwen, too. She definitely was not pleased with her dad about that one.

Yeah, it seemed even more drawn out in the films than in the bok because by showing her making her way to the undying lands it showed that she wavered somewhat which in reality is not true.

That confused me. I read the books after the first movie, so all the things that were changed in the second movie had me going "Huh? That didn't happen".

Although honestly, I didn't mind the changes. I just needed to get used to them. The only one that I did mind was Faramir's behavior in the theatrical release. But then I saw the extended edition, and it was all good again. We got so much more exploration of Faramir's character there, and it all made sense.

I love the extended editions so much. All the character scenes that I love so much in a movie.

The whole Faramir/Boromir/Denathor thing was sorely needed in the regular edition of TTT because it showed Faramir to be a good man. I would have never excepted him with Eowyn otherwise.

Yeah, a lot more was made out of the triangle than was present in the book, but it’s all in the name of entertainment so I wasn’t mad either. I always wished I knew Aragorn and Arwen’s “many daughters” names, the fact that we never knew irked me.

There wasn't all that much romance in the books, really, especially not Aragorn/Arwen (at least, not until the appendixes ). While it's fun to search for the little hints of A/A and clues in the book, I must admit that all the wonderful Muse scenes we got is something I definitely prefer in the movies.

I like both very much. But the movies are beautiful, much more than I imagined it all

I really like the subtle undertones of the book, as well. The way he was described as looking at her, following her footsteps. In the appendixes there was just all this A/A love it was stunning. I do love the movie adaptation though, because it does add a little more meat to the story.

Did you find out what you wanted to be muse of, Anique?

So, speaking of the extended editions, I liked how Arwen reacted to Aragorn trying to break up with her, the whole "It was just a dream" thing. She was so confused at first, but once she realized what he was doing, she simply refused to back down, firmly telling him that he should keep the evenstar. Arwen made it very clear that no matter what Aragorn said, no matter that he thought he was doing the right thing by getting her to leave Middle Earth, she was going to keep on loving him. As she said in the first movie, her heart (like the evenstar necklace) was hers to give as she chose.

I love the fire in her eyes as she says “it was a gift, keep it” She’s a quiet strength throughout. Though I loved the extended scene I almost liked it’s omission better. No trouble in my paradise.

Ah, but it explains the look that passes between Arwen and Aragorn when the Fellowship leaves Rivendell so well.

Yeah, Arwen doesn't hesitate or back down in the slightest. She loves Aragorn, and she knows that won't change, no matter what.

That’s true too.

I think that they are the only couple I could talk about this much with the possible exception of Matt/Harriet from Studio 60 and Anita/Jean Claude from the Anita Blake Vampire series of books. Maybe also some Firefly ships too, dunno. I love multi-layered couples, what can I say.

Well, I'm with you about the Firefly couples (just rewatched "War Stories" last night - I do love Wash/Zoe!). Don't know those other two fandoms, though.

No matter how much I want to be hard-hearted and upset with Elrond for trying to basically break up Aragorn/Arwen and send her away, I just can't do it. Yeah, it's Arwen's decision to make, but he's her father and he's honestly trying to do what's best for her, to keep her from being heartbroken and dying. I think it's his line about "Do I not also have your love?" that always gets to me.

Now, when I find out he kept the future about Eldarion's existence a secret, I have an easier time being annoyed with him. Still like the guy overall, though.

I like Elrond on the whole but in that moment he made me want to roll my eyes. I get the whole closeness/love thing but I think he stepped over the line some. I always loved Galadriel’s support of their relationship, when she talks to Aragorn in the extended edition about how she still has her choice to make.

I love Zoe/Wash, they are adorable. I am very CC in Firefly because I like Mal/Inara and Kaylee/Simon. I can see some Mal/Zoe after Serenity because I could see Zoe needing to reach out but that all ficness.

Okay, Anique. Btw, can I call you Ani?

I didn't like Elrond tried to control the relationship in terms of trying to break them up...but yeah he was only doing what he thought was best!!

I loved the movies more because we saw more of AA!!

And the great chemistry with liv and Viggo....was sooo good!
