The writers can say whatever they want. I still don't buy it. Obviously they aren't going to tell the truth if Toby is faking because it would give away the suspense. After the Mona ending up being A thing last year I take everything they say with a grain of salt.

Well if they go the he's evil and he's been playing Spencer all along route that's a cop out to me.

It shouldn't be that simple that's just throwing away a great character all for what shock value it wouldn't make any sense to me. I believe that Toby might have been on the A team for a while because Mona trusts him so completely, but maybe his feelings for Spencer changed alot of things, but it was too late for him to back out he was in too deep with them. Maybe now he knows that since he can't get out he's just trying to help the girls anyway he knows how to and because he's connected to everything they do he can stay one step ahead of them and watch out for the girls.

I'm not saying it's not worth trying, but I don't think they care much about our broken shipper hearts.
