Sophie, this is probably my 6th time watching that video It's so great
& It's not that weird, considering the writer swap :

yay! That's how I know it's good when people rewatch!

I know, swapping the writers has got to be the biggest mistake!

I want to know how the season 3 writers would have handled being forced to go in the LP direction. I think they would have done it more tactfully.

I think they were just better writers in general, so I think they would've done way less cheese & much better buildup. & would've also has lingering Brooke/Lucas & Jake/Peyton feelings bc that would be much more realistic, then a sudden 'moment of clarity'

still wouldn't of been enough to make me ship LP though

It would have been better if we got it like that but you're right nothing could have made me ship LP.

I know, even if BL/JP never happened, I wouldn't ship LP & tbh, I don't think I'd of ever started watching the show.

Well I watched it from the very beginning but wasn't sure who I shipped for a while. I loved BL but once the first cheating scandal happened I knew I could never ship LP. I hate cheaters especially the way it was done.

I just think their love story is too contrived & cheesey imo. It wasn't so bad in the first 3 seasons, but the writing in season 4 was just terrible imo

Ya at least in the first 3 seasons I could see something between them but not in season 4. It just never made sense to me how Peyton could go from wanting to marry Jake and Lucas thinking Brooke was the one to them all of a sudden having this great love? It doesn't make sense. I always thought that Peyton moved on from Jake without a second thought and that wasn't right.

yeah & saying they LP were just in 'denial' was just a big cheat on having to actually write a story that made sense with the history of the show. I bet Lucas never knew that Peyton actually proposed to Jake.

Ya the denial thing is crap, the writers were lazy and should just admit that!

Ya I bet Lucas never even knew that was where she went

well he went away the same time as her, so I bet he never knew she went back to Jake, just like Lucas never knew that Brooke broke up with him bc Peyton told her she had feelings for him

Ya there were huge gaps there and the writers never cared to explain them because they thought it was easier to just put LP together
