Radio Interview: Reporter to T: "You're not together?" Tessa: no we're not.... (there's some regret or wishful thinking in her voice) Reporter to T: "You're not a couple... blah blah girlfriend... blah boyfriend... Tessa: yeah... on the ice, we're a couple and let's just stick to that.... it seems that couple has a special meaning for them. |

And yes, bogolisk...their wording is curious. That's also the interview where Tessa says they're not like brother and sister because she wouldn't do some of that stuff with a brother, so I'm rather fond of it.  Haha Nessa, you've got quite a thread to catch up on. Have fun! |

Just rewatched the Olympic medal ceremony, and have to say, it makes me "awwww" out loud. When you think about when they first started, and where they are now, on the Olympic podium, I'm sure they're thinking about that too. They just look so happy to be with each other, celebrating the moment together. Loved the death grip they have on each other's hands.
It makes me smile.. ETA- In the gala that Gladys posted, I love the look that Tessa gives Scott (2:24) as she starts talking about Joannie, almost like she needs some comfort, and he gives her a reassuring look back. It's those moments, like they say, where they can talk without speaking. I don't think anyone except those two, (and maybe Meryl and Charlie) can have those moments, unless they've known each other for as long as Tessa and Scott and Meryl and Charlie have known each other. It's quite spectacular to think about. __________________

They must've been thinking about that especially this past weekend, seeing everyone coming out to support them and feeling that love, that support again, the way Tessa mentioned. I'll never forget the night they won gold, the way they belted out "O Canada," hands gripped together so tight and with the brightest and happiest of smiles on their faces. That was the night I fell in love with them, with Mahler, with their chemistry, with their seemingly obvious connection, with his "Thank you so much," with the way he tricked her into thinking they had come in second, with their story, coming from a small town and achieving their ultimate goal as they stood there on that podium, 33 million Canadians cheering them on from coast to coast. It will always be amazing, and truly magical.
