I am fine with bringing back up the judging, LOL... I am doing my best to 'be happy because they're happy' and figure that there is time enough for me to think back and be annoyed... but every once in a while, a sneaky thought comes through and I'm like (for example), "I always thought VM deserved a bit of a 'cushion' because they're such great skaters that a small error should be able to be absorbed by everything else they do... but it seems that the team with the apparent cushion was DW?!?" You know. That sort of thing.

Random: gala music for the group finale was 'Love Story'. Is there a message that this was the music that Sale/Pelletier used in their 2002 Olympics? Aka, the judging scandal which prompted the ISU to have to alter their system?

Egads, am I ever experiencing Olympic withdrawal, LOL. I adore the Olympics (politics, etc, aside) and tend to have them on all the time while I'm home, watching sports I'd never otherwise see. Now it's as though all the other shows on TV are just alien.

Anyway. This has nothing to do with the Olympics -- perhaps it's VM withdrawal? This is an 'new old' photo, because it's from this past summer from that Laura Secord commemorative thing VM did as part of their RBC sponsorship. Good photos, especially since I really like Tessa's dress. (I also remember, it was seriously hot that day, and I felt sorry for everyone having to get dressed up.)

VM were a part of that Russian figure skating show today, with two shows. White_Crow has shared a photo and other (thank you!!!) Russian fans have said they'll have things to post soon.

they do a spin at one point which is amazing to see. There is also the interview after their skate.
If anyone know Russian and can let us know what was being said that would be great.

Very nice job by both of them, that was a lovely performance. That they managed to stay upright and skate, rather than lie down and take naps on the ice, is also impressive.

Oh, and additional kudos to Scott for thanking the orchestra.

Ha, if this had been the appropriate venue for "Stay," the program never would have gone anywhere beyond the opening pose.

After the first twenty seconds, the audience was impressed by their intensity of commitment to the program; after a minute, they contemplated sending out medics until Tessa unexpectedly emitted a particularly hearty snore.

That program looks like it was put together in 15 minutes, kind of disappointing. I hope they get some outside choreography for SOI, maybe Dubreuil/Lauzon? I'm getting a little tired of Marina.

Well, to give some leeway, it is probably a one-time (or rather, two time since they performed twice) dance, and with it being immediately following the Olympics, I can see why they wouldn't want to devote extra time to actually creating a completely brand new program. It reminds me of the old 'Shall We Dance On Ice' program when they used a variation of Mahler to dance to Instrument of Peace. (Though, I will always have a distinct appreciation for it, since I saw it live.) But considering they used Stay last year, I'm anticipating two new show programs for CSOI this time. (I wonder if a variation of their SD or FD will be one of them again, a la Mahler, Latin, and Carmen?)

Aside from annafedorovna and WinterForever2009 posting video from the event, Stulmanka also has added video. She also has some fan video of VM in the K&C after their SD.
