AT: "I don't think that [her engagement to Jonas] did much for her confidence, and I think the relationship with Pete does. I think it's rounding her out as a person, and I think any experience she does get in the love department, in terms of how to foster and keep a relationship, and how to open herself up, and open her heart up will only serve her in the future when she does eventually get together with O'Neill."

Noting the shocked silence from her interviewer, who fears Tapping has just let loose a spoiler, she quickly adds, "No, I don't really mean that. I mean sure, Carter loves O'Neill. She adores him, and she's allowed herself the knowledge that she cannot keep pine for this man that she can never have. Plus, as a professional and as a woman, it's bordering pathetic if she hangs on. It doesn't mean that she has any less feelings for O'Neill, or that she's not attracted to him. She still has deep feelings of love for him, as is evidenced even after she meets Pete. She still shows it to O'Neill, and that's never going to go away..."

Jack: (sitting down) Oh, this has nothing to do with you being a woman. I like women. I've just got a little problem with scientists.
Sam: Colonel, I logged over 100 hours in enemy airspace during the Gulf War. Is that tough enough for you? Or are we going to have to arm wrestle?

Daniel: Wow, what happened to you?
Jack: Oh, I - got in a little wrestling match with Carter.
Daniel: Why?
Jack: I guess she's got whatever Johnson's got. Had to drag her off to the infirmary.
Daniel: What, did she start a fight with you, like Johnson did with Teal'c?
Jack: No, she, uh - tried to seduce me.
Daniel: Oh. You... poor man.
Jack: No, it wasn't like that. She was like a wild animal. She was nuts.
Daniel: Well, is she all right? I should go see her.
Jack: Why?
Daniel: What do you mean, 'why?' Because I care about her.
Jack: You care about her? What's that mean?
Daniel: It means I care about her, she's my friend. Now let go!
Jack: She's not yours to care about.
Daniel: What the hell are you talking about?
Jack: I'm talking about Samantha. You just stay away from her, okay?
Daniel: Okay. Okay, Jack. I think you should come with me to the infirmary...

Jack: I understand you got stabbed in the stomach?
Sam: Oh, yeah, that - that was nothing. With any luck, there won't even be a scar.
Jack: Well, good. I was concerned.
Sam: You were?
Jack: Sure. (smiles) If it doesn't heal properly, you'll never wear that sweet little tank top number again.

Solitudes
Sam: Night...Oh...Colonel.
Jack: It's my sidearm, I swear. No giggling, please...!

Into the Fire
Jack: CARTER! (He pulls her upright and hugs her)
Sam: W-What happened?
Jack: Hathor's gone.
Sam: What about you?

Jack: I didn't leave ... because I'd have rather died myself ... than lose Carter.

Jack: Because I care about her. A lot more than I'm supposed to.

Jack: Would it mean anything if I told you I remember something else?

Jack: I remember feeling --- feelings.

Jack: No, for TOR. (Sam laughs) I don't remember much, but I DO remember that.

Jack: So... I'm just saying.
Sam: Well, then I feel better.

Jack: You’ve been a little tense.
Sam: Tense? Me? I’m not tense. Am I? ... When did you first notice?
Jack: As ... we ... met.

Sam: So what didn’t they go for?
Jack: The name I suggested.
Sam: For the ship?
Jack: Yeah.
Sam: Yeah Sir, we can’t call it the Enterprise.
Jack: Why not?

Birthright
Mala: You are close to Colonel O'Neill...
Sam: Yeah...I like to think we have a special relationship.
Mala: I hope to, someday, have a special relationship...
Sam: Oh! No, no...it's not like that...
Mala: Like what?
Sam: (fumbles for words) W...ye...we aren't, you know, I mean, we don't...
Mala: I was speaking of the mutual respect you share.
Sam: I knew that... (She clears her throat.)

Grace
Sam: What if I quit the Air Force? Would that change anything or is it just an excuse?
Jack: I would never ask you to give up your career.
Sam: Because you don't feel anything for me?
Jack: Sam...
Sam: I'd let you go right now if I knew.
Jack: That easy?
Sam: I didn't say it would be easy.
Jack: Then what's stopping you if you really wanna know?
Sam: I'm trying.
Jack: Maybe it's not me that's the problem here. Let's face it, I'm not that complex.
Sam: Me?
Jack: Sam. I'm a safe bet.
Sam: As long as I'm thinking about you, setting my sights on what I think is unobtainable, there's no chance of being hurt by someone else.
Jack: Jacob was right. You deserve more. I will always be there for you, no matter what. Believe me.
Sam: So what now?
Jack: Go save your ass.
Sam: One last thing.
(Sam imagines them kissing)
Sam: Never mind.

(Sam enters the elevator with Jack. She starts humming the Stargate theme tune)
Jack: Humming?
Sam: I am?
Jack: You are.
Sam: Sorry.
Jack: What's his name?
Sam: No one.
Jack: Humming.
Sam: Pete.

Sam: Pete Shannahan, he's a cop.
Jack: Speeding again are we?
Sam: He's from Denver, he's a friend of my brothers.
Jack: Set-up.
Sam: Pathetic, I know.
Jack: No, it's great.
Sam: Really?
Jack: Isn't it?
Sam: Well it's not serious or anything.
Jack: And yet it is humworthy.
Sam: But Sir...
Jack: But Carter it's none of my...business. I'm just happy that you're happy about something else than... quarks.

Heros Part 2
Sam: Sir. I-I just wanted to say... when you were lying there I.... I'm really glad you're okay.
Sam's tearing up, she looks away. Jack moves closer, slowly, and she glances at him.
Jack: C'mere.
He pulls Sam into a hug, which she returns.

The Lost City Part 1
Sam: I should have done it.
Jack: What? Stuck your head in that thing? Are you nuts? Carter. You're one of this country's natural resources. If not National treasures. It couldn't have gone down any other way. I just hope it's worth it.
Sam: Even if we do find the Lost City. Even if we get there and find exactly what we're looking for to defend the planet--
Jack: THAT... would be worth it.

The Lost City Part 2
Jack: Do it now.
Sam: Sir, I don’t think that’s necessary ...
Jack: I trust you. I’ll make it easy for you. I resign. You’re in charge.
Sam: OK. ... Sir, at your house before Daniel and Teal’c showed up, what I was gonna say was ...
Jack: I know.

I know! A shiny new S/J thread is making me happy too Can I add your avies to the first post Caroline?

Yeah Suzan, they've only kissed three times. The first when Sam was infected by a virus and she jumped him in the locker room, the second was in a time loop, so Jack's the only one who remembers it, and the third was when Sam imagined it while she was concussed.

Subject

My fav. of the kisses was the time loop one. He just signed his resignation and then kissed her. Both funny and beautiful.

Also, I love the banner.

Yeah, Window of Opportunity was such a funny episode. Season 4 had all the great S/J moments, then they toned it down after that. I guess they had to, with the Air Force regulations and all

Here is a S/J fan Art I made. It is a fanart for the episode "Learning Curve". It also features Merrin, the little girl that Sam and Jack were, to my eyes, parenting in that episode. This is sort of a tribute to the sort of family dynamic that Sam and Jack could have one day. click

Most of my ships are UC... so even if Sam and Jack get together in the last five seconds, I'll take what I can get You think they'd cut it that close though? There's been a lot of talk from writers/producers about them not getting together, but I figure that just to throw us off. They do that a lot. I remember when they had the 'screencap' of Sam & Jack in the infirmary kissing/hugging in front of Hammond in season 5, and everyone thought they'd finally get together... only it never happened There was also the one of Sam and Daniel kissing, but that was just cute

Love it Episodes where we get to see the sweet part of O'Neill are just great. Of course, it's also great when he's running around shooting up Jaffa.
