I found that scene confusing, cuz if the kiss continued , would it mean both Belle would awaken and Rumple would lose his curse? I thought he wasn't ready to do that just yet. Was he tricking her so she would wake up? And why couldn't the kiss last longer

I think Belle would've woken up, but Rumple wouldn't have lost his curse since it was just a dream (they weren't physically there). That said, I do think Rumple would let his curse break if that was the only way to save his family.. But he would probably eventually find a way to get that power back (I mean, in case he lost it).

Mmmm...I think the curse wouldn't have broken for him but yes for her (therefore why Bad!Rumbaba told him it was a cruel trick), but that doesn't mean Rumple hasn't tried TLK before (in 2x12, in 5x20 or something). And I also think it was proven that what stopped it was Belle's fears, not his unwillingness.
He tried in RW, and failed. SO he went to her father and failed. SO he went to her dreamworld, and failed. I mean, I'd say it could be him holding on to power as well in DW, but not after he tried the other things

Morpheus probably just overheard when Rumple confessed to Belle that he ruined his and Bae's relationship i.e. "destroyed his last family".

I just don't understand why he would trick and manipulate his parents like that, especially if he had the power to wake Belle up all along..



Yeah, what happened in the premiere supports my theory that true love, or at least a successful TLK, in OUAT is simply about belief (Two people love each other and believe in their love = successful TLK). Rumple's plan was to make Belle fall in love with him again, i.e to make her believe in their love so TLK could work. The kiss stopped working because Belle realized what was going on and stopped believing. It's the opposite of what happened in Skin Deep (the kiss stopped working because Rumple realized Belle was trying to break his curse, thus he became suspicious and stopped believing in their love). So the kiss would have worked regardless of whether or not Rumple wanted to break his own curse, and the fact that he tried TLK in S2 or in the UW does suggest that he is willing to do that to save Belle (and their baby).

Morpheus, or whoever he is, gives me a whole CHARMED vibe. Rather than trying to get his parents (?????? if he really is their bouncing bundle of joy) back together, he's more interested in causing them pain.
