I really love these two and noticed there there is no thread yet, so I decided to open one, hoping a few other people on here are in love with them and their dynamic as well.

I'm kind of nervous about the season finale.

Hard to say at this point. It depends where they want to take it after the s3 finale. I certainly hope so.

I could see her ending up single as well though, since the show is mainly about Rebecca realising that her happiness and personal growth aren't dependant on her love life.

If she's going to end up with any guy on the show it will be Nathaniel though, I think. Anything else wouldn't make sense after everything that happened.

I used to think that Rebecca final ending is her being single and sane. However, the shrink did say she does deserve love so I now think it's a possibility for her to end up with him

I noticed that too. So yeah, I think it's a possibility as well. And while Nathaniel really acted more as an enabler for her bad behaviour in the last episode, I do think they justified it a bit, because he only wanted to save her. I also believe both have a lot of growing to do before we can call their relationship healthy.

It's certainly Rebecca's first relationship that can be classified as "real", because Nathaniel knows who she is, what she has done and still loves her anyway. They are more on equal ground since she isn't just manipulating her significant other to get what she wants.

I would really like it if they ended up together, because mentally ill people aren't incapable of being in a loving relationship and I believe that would be the right message to send to the audience as well.

I agree that there is the benefit that he fully knows who she is and Rebecca is more self aware about her relationship

Aww I'm sad to see this thread is sort of dead -- did anyone enjoy the ending or were you still holding out hope Nathaniel/Rebecca in the end?

I've watched the ending and part of me still wishes that she ended up with Nathaniel. I'll always be sad they didn't on the show, but it was open-ended and there is that hope that in the future it is always possible.
