I can't wait to see the new banner. :) I'd love to add more quotes as well! Here's one of my top favorites:

From CF - "I look at Peeta and he gives me a sad smile. I hear Haymitch's voice. "You could do a lot worse." At this moment, it's impossible to imagine how I could do any better. The gift...it is perfect. So when I rise up on tiptoe to kiss him, it doesn't seem forced at all."

Thanks for the new movie news. I like Lyndsy as well...she could work :) She's really good on Nikita and I liked her on Desperate Housewives. But I agree with Rukia, she's almost too stunning to play Katniss (if that makes any sense)

But the article mentioning Dakota Fanning as fan favorite?! I haven't heard that before.

Thanks guys  I'm excited for you all to see it.

I'm thinking of doing some quotes with tiny banners like this one.

Thanks for the update, Ann! I don't mind Lyndsy either. I liked her a lot in Kick-Ass. Yes, she's older, but she played a teenager in Kick-Ass. My only issue with her is that I think she looks a bit too sexy to play Katniss sometimes.

Well, I guess they can rough her down like they do on Nikita.

I have a feeling we're going to be lucky if she has brown hair.

I've heard a few people suggest Dakota Fanning, but I wouldn't call her a fan fave.

I would really, really love Olivia Thirlby as Katniss! She's not a fan fave at all, and she's a bit older like Lyndsy, but I think she's perfect. She has the right look and the acting chops. I wish they'd send her the script to read, too.
Who knows, they might have. I'm guessing the script has been sent to more than one actress.

Ann, I love the new art. It's fantastic!

Thanks, Pia  Any suggestions of specific quotes you guys want for me to do for the art?

What do you guys think? I actually don't mind her!

I could definitely see Lyndsy as Katniss. Looks wise, I think she would be a close fit and she can definitely act ... I loved her in DH, haven't seen her in Nikita though.

Welcome to the thread, Penny Avenue, lipsticklullabies. Adding you both now. :D

As for the quotes, any of these would be great:

"To this day, I can never shake the connection between this boy, Peeta Mellark, and the bread that gave me hope, and the dandelion that reminded me that I was not doomed."

"You here to finish me off, sweetheart?"

I fumble. I'm not as smooth with words as Peeta. And while I was talking, the idea of actually losing Peeta hits me again and I realised how much I don't want him to die. And it's not about the sponsors. And it's not about what will happen back home. And it's not just that I don't want to be alone. It's him. I do not want to lose the boy with the bread.

This is the first kiss where I actually feel stirring inside my chest. Warm and curious. This is the first kiss that makes me want another.

As we settle in, he pulls my head down to use his arm as a pillow, the other rests protectively over me even when he goes to sleep. No one has held me like this in such a long time. Since my father died and I stopped trusting my mother, no one else's arms have made me feel this safe.

"I remember everything about you. You're the one who wasn't paying attention."
"I am now."
"Well, I don't have much competition here."
"You don't have much competition anywhere."

I look at Peeta and he gives me a sad smile. I hear Haymitch's voice. "You could do a lot worse." At this moment, it's impossible to imagine how I could do any better. This gift ... it is perfect. So when I rise up on tiptoe to kiss him, it doesn't seem forced at all.

“It's not necessary. My nightmares are usually about losing you. I'm okay once I realize you're here.”

I wrap my arms tightly around his neck before he can order me to do push-ups or something. Instead he pulls me in close and buries his face in my hair. Warmth radiates from the spot where his lips just touch my neck, slowly spreading through the rest of me. It feels so good, so impossibly good, that I know that I will not be the first to let go.

"I just want to spend every possible minute of the rest of my life with you."

"I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever."

I realise only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.

"I do." I say. "I need you."

The sensation inside me grows warmer and spreads out from my chest, down through my body, out along my arms and legs, to the tips of my being. Instead of satisfying me, the kisses have the opposite effect, of making my need greater. I thought I was something of an expert on hunger, but this is an entire new kind.

 So many good PK moments. Gah.

Drunk On You 10-12-2010 12:06 PM

I love all those quotes.

water lilies 10-12-2010 12:14 PM

Kaya Scodelario said on Twitter that she also has the script, before she deleted them. :) From here.

That looks great, Ann. Here are my suggestions for the quotes :):

"What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses."

"I feel around for the parachute and slide my fingers inside until they close around the pearl. I sit back on my bed cross-legged and find myself rubbing the smooth iridescent surface of the pearl back and forth against my lips. For some reason, it's soothing. A cool kiss from the giver himself."

wanderer78 10-12-2010 01:09 PM

Yeah, I posted Kaya S.'s tweets on the movie thread.

We'll see. It's probably being sent to hundreds (if not thousands) of actresses.

:thud: The quotes are killing me so good.

I don't have the quote on hand. But I love the little speech Katniss gives Peeta about being a baker, painter, double tying his laces, etc. That was amazing.

I love that moment from District 11!

Beautiful art, Ann! Can't wait to see more! :D

Dakota's a bit 'out there' fan suggestion for Katniss to me. She's not Katniss at all to me.

Love, love those THG and CF quotes, Sarah! :thud: I can never get enough of the P/K moments/quotes!

Love those MJ quotes, Belle! Especially the pearl... we didn't get as much P/K moments as I'd wanted in MJ, but it was nice to see Katniss realizing how much Peeta means to her. Even if it had to take almost losing Peeta for her to realize it.

Does anybody know this exact quote? I love it, too, but I only remember bits of it... and I don't have my copy of MJ right now. :( I love it so much.

Yeah, I posted Kaya S.'s tweets on the movie thread.
Do you have the link to Kaya's tweets to Hunter? I've heard about them, but I haven't seen her tweets to him. I think it's adorable that she's tweeting him...

wanderer78 10-12-2010 08:28 PM

I posted the link on the Books board, but this is what she tweeted to Hunter:

Rukia 10-12-2010 08:38 PM

Yeah, I saw that. Thanks for posting, Pia. :)

Aw, that's so cute. The interest's there already... I'm sure they'll have great chemistry then if they're both cast. :D

water lilies 10-12-2010 08:38 PM

^ Aw, that's a cute tweet.

Here's the book passage you guys liked:

"Your favorite color...it's green?"
"That's right." Then I think of something to add. "And yours is orange."
"Orange?" He seems unconvinced.
"Not bright orange. But soft. Like the sunset," I say. "At least, that's what you told me once."
"Oh." He closes his eyes briefly, maybe trying to conjure up that sunset, then nods his head. "Thank you."

But more words tumble out. "You're a painter. You're a baker. You like to sleep with the windows open. You never take sugar in your tea. And you always double-knot your shoelaces."

:in_love:

Rukia 10-12-2010 08:53 PM

Thanks for posting that passage from MJ! Love it so much!

When did this passage occur in MJ? I can't believe I'd forgotten so much of MJ already... serves me right for reading it too dang fast. :P I just remember the quote but not when. Was it when they were in the Capitol towards the end?

wanderer78 10-12-2010 09:35 PM

Belle, thank you! That was such a beautiful speech. :)

I don't remember which part of MJ it was from either. I think it's when they were going towards the Capitol. But I'm not sure. I read it too fast as well.

dive into you 10-12-2010 11:57 PM

Thanks for the quotes, guys

That's so exciting that Kaya got a script and Hunter probably got one too.

I hope the other fan faves got the scripts too.
