Achilles and Briseis #1 (Troy): She Gave Him Peace

i just saw this movie today, and these two SHINED. helen and paris were bleh. i mean i love orlando bloom, but omg he was such a wuss in that movie. they should've been the MAIN couple of the movie. ayyy... briseis yah! that girl kicks ass! they're so cute together lol=P where can i get pictures of them? its really hard to find.. =S __________________

Loved them, loved them. It wasn't in the books, but hell. I loved them together.

Man oh man, pictures! me likes. Damn, I want more. I'm watching Troy again tomorrow yayy! I'm obsessed.
The relationship of Briseis and Achilles was actually in the book Iliad by Homer. briseis was originally married to a king. Achilles killed him and her family. He took briseis as a war prisoner, slave/concubine. *spoiler* In the movie Briseis gave Achilles a reason to live and not to fight. She was the reason on why he wanted to go home and not find glory in war. In Iliad Agamemnon takes her away from Achilles to become his concubine. Achilles didn't want to fight unless Agamemnon gives her back to him. so I guess The movie was kind of correct since briseis was the reason why achilles didn't fight and they lost the offensive attack on Troy. Briseis was queen in the books, not a priestess, wasn't a virgin. Leave it to Hollywood to make the story sound much more sweeter  __________________

Saw Troy last night. Loved it. And I loved them.
I knew Achilles was going to die, but because he stayed behind for her? I loved how she gave him peace and another reason to live besides getting his glory in war. __________________

Well I'm glad to see we're all in agreement. I'll edit in the pretties when I get home, but I did want to say that it's true -- besides Achilles himself, Achilles with Briseis is the reason to see the movie...period.

No I haven't thought of any name.
But I would've been so happy if she was pregnant at the end. Afterall Achillies did have a son didn't he? And Eric Bana as Hector is just amazing. |
