This a the appreciation and discussion thread for Malachy Fisher & Mercedes Fisher (nee McQueen) in Britsh Soap Opera Hollyoaks!

Background
They first started their relationship as casual sex back in August 2008.
The pair of them gave blood in the village and Malachy felt dizzy so Mercedes walked him home where the pair fell into eachothers arm's and in Malachy's bed!
After several occasion's; the pair started to fall in love.

Malachy got a shock as he found out that he was H.I.V positive.
He then ran back to his hometown of Belfast for the weekend.
In that 3 day period, Malachy's bisexual, crossdressing brother Kris slept with Mercedes in a drunken revenge plot to the AWOL Northern Irishman.

Malachy returned and confessed his illness to his younger brother. Who got the PEP drug in a bid for good health. Mercedes however was none the wiser of her boyfriend's illness.
The pair slept together several more times until the truth finally came out and heartbroken Mercedes had to have her test and wait 3 months for her results.

During the next few weeks; Mercedes had been housebound and then kidnapped by her secret half brother (Matthew) Niall and gave up her own life with younger brother John Paul. She survived the attack, unlike her younger sister Tina.

Trying to get back to normal after the death of her sister, discovery of her brother and the shock that she could be H.I.V + Malachy shocks her by asking him to marry her. Mercedes disagreing.

In the late night spin off; Hollyoaks Later (2008) Mercedes sleeps with a stranger in the pub toilet's but regrets it straight after. She then dashes off to Belfast to see Malachy.

Malachy's been getting friendly with his ex Cheryl, Mercedes arrives and announces who she is!

The pair are all lovey dovey in eachothers arms when the pair bust up again!
And Mercedes reveals Malachy's illness to the whole pub (who didn't know).

The day after they marry, after a will they/won't they?

After Chrsitmas & new Year the newly married couple return to find Mercedes results come back negative. The McQueens insist Mercedes leaves Malachy and starts a new life with someone else. But Mercedes admits she loves Malachy and wont leave him, even though she is healthy.

The past few months, the pair have had a quiet, loving life.
Although they had almost broke up as Malachy wanted a job in Canada and to start a family with the help of treatment. Mercedes wanted neither. The pair decided to stay at home and enjoy what they have!
