I have to second this sentiment I might be one of a few people who came to appreciate all of the show's seasons for each of them introduced certain intriguing or heartwarming/emotionally challenging storylines and characters (and regardless of how uncommon of an opinion it might be I got rather attached to the new characters in later seasons), however, season 2 and season 3 imho didn't measure up to overall appeal and sincerity the show managed to remarkably maintain in spite of it's immense flaws. Brucas storyline came entirely out of the total blue with little to no build up and based on flat out contrived re-writing, Haley's perspective regarding the going on tour with Chris issue didn't even begin to be consistently addressed and pretty much the only positive factor of the season was Nathan/Lucas bonding. Season 3 tried to show a semblance of improvement and effort invested into the storytelling, however, the faux "deep and meaningful" episodes such as the school shooting came off as half baked and lazily constructed and I pretty much only tuned in for LP scenes. Season 4 did, however, exceed my expectations and even despite my well documented distaste for season 5 there were certain redeeming factors about it such as Brooke's character arc and her insecurities and struggles finally being highlighted in a way they should have been dealt with all along contrary to Brucas contrivance that we got in earlier seasons and that was supposed to showcase Brooke's character development while being anything but.

Thanks for the new thread! Love that title. Should we do something special for the 50th thread? I revamped the OP a few threads ago but we could also add more to it. Though, I hate cluttered OP's so I wouldn't want to add too much more.

A rewatch sounds great Lexi! I don't own the seasons but I'm sure the scenes are on youtube anyways. We could do 2-5 scenes a week, depending on how long/short they are.

Can't stand s2 but I have a soft spot for s3. It was the season that brought me to this show and this ship. Even though he was with Brooke and he was saying all the "right" things, there was something about LP that felt genuine to me. I didn't have to know they had a history to feel it. So Mark conveyed their relationship and past very well in s3, something that the writers failed to do in s2. s2 was a disaster but s3 set them back on the right path so I have no real issues with s3 despite some of the silly storylines. It became watchable because of the LP and Peyton/Ellie stuff. Just my opinion.

two to five scenes a week sounds good! or an ep a week, but just watching their scenes? or we can pick eps that have the best lp scenes and just do that? i really want to rewatch their whole story though, so i'd be down to do five and six too. the rewatch could last us until next year...

i'm one of those rare few that actually likes season two. DON'T HURT ME! minus the obvious ship wanking going on. in fact, i didn't start to hate the show until psycho derek. that's where it all went down hill for me.

I think I can live with not seeing S2. I barely remember anything from that season and I didn't like Lucas' gf that time. I think I'd pick Brooke (back then) over whats-her-name anytime. I was late watching OTH so I wasn't aware of the whole BL/LP drama and I think I'm glad I watched late. I liked S3 mostly for Nathan/Haley. LP not so much. I am a fan of angst so after what happened in S1, I was all for them not being together and going back to each other at the right time. And for me, that was S4.

if i have to watch season fiiive, you have to watch two! only lp scenes though. i mean, HELLO, THE BEACH SCENE! who wouldn't want to dream about what lp did that whole summer before senior year?! *SWOON*

^ I REALLY liked that scene. It was nice to see him finally acknowledge some of what happened in s5. It wasn't as long of a speech as people wanted, but I thought it was good to keep things simple. LP understand each other and Peyton isn't the type to hold grudges anyway. He was so good to her in s6 and I think that meant a lot more than a million speeches would've. "It's not about what you say Luke, it's about what you do."

Or we could just watch scenes from 2-3 episodes a week, depending on how many scenes are in each episode. Season one and season four would take the longest to get through in that regard, but I'm sure no one would mind that so much. I'd rather watch all their scenes too, but we can just do "favorite" episodes if that's what everyone else wants to do. Just let me know and we can start this week.
