I wrote this on other thread then discovered the new one - doh! lol
wowsa I had a lot to catch up on ladies and gentlemen! Well I am still in a downton haze I hope we have all recovered!
I loved the whole episode my only complaint was yet again nowhere near enough S&T scenes. Especially not enough together. LOVED the last one at the church where they walked away and Violet was skilfully trying to rewrite his family tree I LMAO at that lol I sobbed at Lavinia and the sadness of M&M's situation...poor souls. I hope that dastardly Carlisle gets his Christmas Comeuppance and lets them get together. And poor Mr&Mrs Bates.... (gutted we weren't the sex scene though lol) shortest honeymoon ever. And Thomas was just so desperate they have to keep him. I know he stole in the past but the war has changed him, not completely, but I think they will give him a second chance. I really felt for him. Back to our ship..... I will have sweet dreams knowing they are sailing to Ireland on the next boat. I hope we get some sort of wedding scene, although I have a sneaky suspicion it will all be offscreen as per usual grrrr Thank goodness my series 1&2 box set has already been dispatched! bring on the special features! PS HAve been keeping up with the real life romance stories and although i agree it is none of our business I was sucked in and read the article oops I wouldn't be surprised if it was true...that radio times interview had very interesting body language.... |

if people want to come up with some more "because"s from tonight's episode, I'll add them to OP! there should be a ton
I think S3 will be about Edith getting some love finally, maybe S/T will introduce her to someone new... I really can't wait for them to come home (if they do) for the holidays and have the whole upstairs/downstairs awkwardness... because S/T will have found their own groove in terms of their relationship by then, and will be adorably couplely... but everyone else will have to get used to it... I know there were a few cliffhangers, but since our ship sailed off together, literally, I really don't feel all stressed out I just want to see a wedding between them!  |

Livestream did NOT cooperate with me tonight. iPlayer is slow as molasses (worse than Livestream was in previous episodes) *sniff* *sniff* Downloading now! Still an hour to go before I watch. Did get a live blog though, so I know what's coming. I just want to see it!!!!!

The next time Carson and Tom meet in the Christmas special is going to be priceless. I hope Carson doesn't stay too angry. Afterall, Robert's made peace with it and if Carson's sees how happy Sybil is, maybe he'll soften.

Am I a horrible person for not being sad enough both for the funeral and the arrest as the scene of our beloved two in between just made me not take notice of anything else?
Other than that, I have found myself yelling - in Hebrew, I might add - at the silly screen time the Jane/Robert thing took from tonight's episode, loved loved loved Violet - I know I was hating the idea of her meddling with S/T and her connections when I saw it in the spoilers, but I couldn't avoid laughing when it was presented in the episode, and I'm a little sorry Carson was so mad at Tom he didn't let everyone gossip freely upon hearing the news. With the exception of Robert/Jane and with taking into account that most viewers of DA are casual and are not as invested in one story line or another, I thought that all in all it was a very good episode. I wish we would have gotten more joined scenes of S/T but there were definitely more than usually, so we're heading in the right direction, and as we know, JF always foreshadows his storylines, so I think we're going to have interesting time with Sybil and Tom in the future. I also wish Sybil would have used the word "love" somewhere, but I think that last scene in the funeral said so much about how committed and loving they both are. I also think that the way Tom and Sybil communicated with everyone all the way through the episode definitely showed that they thought everything through, that they knew what they were doing and were very certain about it, and that it wasn't some rushed decision or a lapse in judgment. I was very proud of them both  ETA: And it's safe to say that as we suspected we won't be getting an on-screen wedding, but as I said before, coming back to them as a married couple and them being now able to interact with the world as such is really more than enough for me. And it is of course an invitation for a lot of on screen intimacy on various levels . ETA2: Some people on DS still think she went with him as an escape route. I give up. Instead of trying convincing people, I think we should just think ourselves lucky for enjoying a beautiful story line that some people are just too cynical to be touched by. Tough. __________________
