While not much is truly known about Patrick, much is said about him - and that's fine by him. He's a dark, brooding figure on the fringe of Padua High School. Patrick has a genuine mysteriousness that's at once intriguing yet unsettling.


A Feminist with a razor-sharp tongue, Kat possesses a strong sense of self and a keen scorn for the trappings of high school. She does have a softer side under that tough exterior, a fact she keeps closely guarded.

ETHAN & LINDSAY

Ethan Peck is the son of artist Francine Matarazzo and Stephen Peck, Community Development Director for U.S.VETS. His sister, Marisa Matarazzo, is a writer. He is also the grandson of late legendary actor Gregory Peck. In high school he played varsity lacrosse and football, and was on the varsity track team. He studied classical cello for six years. He has had earlier roles in Passport to Paris and a younger Kelso in two episodes of That 70's Show.

Lindsay Shaw was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and developed a love of the theater at a young age. Before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career full time, Lindsey and her mother traveled from Lincoln to Kansas City twice a month to do print ads and commercials. She is best know for her roles Jennifer 'Moze' Mosely in Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and Claire Tolchuck in Aliens in America.

(After he almost hits her car with his bike, he gives her a look)
Kat: Hey you're the one speeding in a school zone. (his bike is blocking her from closing the car door) Do you mind?

Principal: Mr. Verona, what a surprise come in... without the sharp object.
Kat (as he blocks her exit): Personal space ever hear of it? (when he still doesn't move, she shoves past him)

(Kat sees Patrick looking at her)
Kat: Mandella, who is Captain Intensity over there?
Mandella: Patrick Verona, people say he knows the taste of human flesh.
Kat: Please he's trying to act mysterious, so he can get laid. Watch. (walks over and starts to stare Patrick down)
Mandella: Maybe we should stand somewhere else, somewhere out of state. (Kat and Patrick stare at each other till he finally gets up and leaves)

(Kat sees Patrick show up at the party)
Kat: Alright Hannibal Lecter, lets cut to the chase. You want some of this (puts up her keyed fist) no? Then how about some of this (holds up her tazer) what do you want?
Patrick: What do you mean?
Kat: I mean do you want to deal me drugs, or steal my car, or harvest my organs? Why are people scared of you?
Patrick: Why are people scared of *you*?
Kat: (scoffs) People aren't scared of me.
Patrick: Sure they are that's why I find you interesting.


Mandella: That was awesome, it's like your mouth knows kung fu.
Kat: High school is like Vietnam, and these stupid flowers are like agent orange.
Mandella: So you're not hoping to get one, even a teeny tiny bit?
Kat: From who? Every guy here has the depth of an inflatable kitty pool.
Mandella: What about Patrick Verona?
Kat: I would rather lick that toilet seat, why would you even ask me that?
Mandella: I just saw him in line buying a flower that's all.
Kat: (flustered) That's impossible he would never...

Walter: You girls are late, where were you?
Bianca: We were having sex with the soccer team, it took longer than expected.
Walter: Funny, young lady you come back here.
Kat: Dad usually I enjoy this but this time let it go, she's had a tough day no one sent her a stinking carnation.
Walter: Oh I see. (shocked) I'm sorry are you experiencing sympathy?
Kat: Don't get me wrong she really shouldn't let someone else's opinion effect her like this. Who cares if some guy she's barely met didn't spend two bucks to buy her a flower. I mean really all she knows about this guy is that he's rumored to be a cannibal. Still when she didn't get one it upset her, but what's even more upsetting is she let herself care in the first place. She's so pathetic. (he knows she's talking about herself) Poor Bianca.
Walter (totally aware of who they're talking): I'm going to go tell *her* that's she's right no guy should make her doubt how amazing she is. But I'm also going to tell *her* that part of high school is getting hurt. And there is no way to avoid it, she's just going to have to learn to pick herself up and move on.
Kat: You should tell her that, *she'd* really appreciate it.

Kat: I just have one thing to say to you. I'm not that girl.
Patrick: What girl?
Kat: The girl who's turned on by this bad boy crap. I'm not skipping home to scribble in my journal that maybe you're a vampire.
Patrick: Noted.
Kat: You don't have to beat people up for me. I can do that myself.
Patrick: I'm sure you can, but I didn't beat anyone up.
Kat: Yeah right.
Patrick: Scouts honour, now do you mind. (starts up bike)
Kat: Helmet.
Patrick: (pretends not to hear) I'm sorry what?


Patrick: I need to show you something.
Kat: Careful that's borderline sexual harassment.
Patrick: Aww borderline, clearly I'm not working hard enough. (takes off his sweater while Kat stares drooling, and reveals he's wearing a matching T-shirt with hers underneath) Same shirts.
Kat: Wow two things that match! Pretty soon you'll be reading.
Patrick: So you know about their show tonight?
Kat: Of course.
Patrick: That's strange. Usually pretty girls are very good liars. (writes on her arm) Here, the club is called Live Bait, of course you'll need a fake ID.
Kat: And you (writes manners on his arm) need some manners.

Patrick: Looking for me?
Kat: Yes, if you were the ladies' room.
Patrick: Just admit it, your excited to see me.
Kat: Don't flatter yourself. I came for the band, I know every song by heart.
Patrick: Of course you do.
Kat: You know I'm sure to you their songs are just a groovy soundtrack for banging chicks. But their lyrics are poetry. "I know where I am, it's scrolled high on the hill as we're raising through canyons of angels."
Patrick: Whoa. Next time I'm banging chicks I will have to pay more attention.
(they both smile)

Patrick: Here's your chance.
Kat: Oooh, goody.
Patrick: Come on, you want me to kiss you.
Kat: The lead singer yes. You? Not so much.
Patrick: You sure about that?
Kat: I'm just standing here, you're the one moving closer. (they're about to kiss when her phone rings) I got to take this, maybe those lines will work on someone else.


(Patrick is lying on the grass and throws something but misses the litter bin)
Kat: Pick it up.
(Patrick just looks at her)
Kat: Oh. (mocking) Do you have trouble hearing?
(Patrick just keeps staring. Kat picks the litter up, but the he throws something else)
Kat: Real mature. (Kat picks it up again)
Patrick: I just like watching you bend over.
Kat: Oh, that's nothing. You should watch me do this.
(Kat kicks the litter bin and throws all the litter over Patrick. People gasp.)
Kat: Now you know how the Earth feels.

Principal: What happen?
Kat: He littered. (the principal acts faux gasps)
Patrick: Which trigger some kind of psychotic break.

Patrick: Can't stay away can you. (Kat holds up his bag) Did you sneak a peak?
Kat: Oh, I was going to, but my hazmat suit is at the cleaners.

Patrick: You know I think I finally figured you out. You dump trash on me, you go out of your way to get detention, you steal my backpack. You're obsessed with me.
Kat:What can I say you nailed it, you and me in the sexy vest picking up trash. The sweet stench of garbage in the air, welcome to my dream date.

Patrick: It's ok that your obsessed with me, just admit it.

Patrick: You can go if you want.
Kat: No I'll stay.
Patrick: Because you're obsessed with me.


Kat: Hey, what's going on?
Patrick: Just wrapping up another day in paradise.
Kat: Listen about the other day I just wanted to say... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone through your bag or stab you in the foot.
Patrick: But lets keep are distance, the doctor said it would heal faster if I reduce the amount of crazy in my life.
Kat: (to herself) Crazy? I'm not crazy!

(Watching Kat working on her car)
Louis: Twenty says she quits by the end of the day.
Brad: Oh, come on if everyone bets against her, there's no point in having a pool.
Louis: Patrick? Do you wanna bet on her?
Patrick: Not while she's anywhere near power-tools.

Kat: For the record, I didn't even know you were in auto shop ok. So if you think I'm here for you, you're sadly mistaken. (he doesn't respond, so she hits the car)
Patrick: Hey! (comes out cover in oil) What the hell! (she tries to help him up but he stops her) I got it, can we just agree on a minimum safe distance or do I have to file a restraining order?
Kat: Don't flatter yourself, and I'm not leaving 'till I'm finished.

Brad: I'm gonna clean up on this bet and spend your money on porn, and cigars, and women who don't talk back.
Kat: Well make sure to save some for therapy.
Patrick: And maybe you should save some for anger management.

(Kat has sucessfully converted her car)
Patrick: Ok, I'm impressed. So you going to take her for a ride?
Kat: Yep, now we can really keep are distance.
Patrick: Awwwww.


Cameron: (calling after Bianca)Sometimes they take a while to drop.
Patrick: So do your testicles.
Cameron: I'm gentle and a man. I'm a gentleman. Used to be a good thing.
Patrick: Dude you're too gentle. You're like that little teddy bear that sells fabric softner.(gets up to leave)
Cameron: Wait, so how to I change that?
Patrick: Do I look like Dr. Phil?
Cameron: Look I know you're scary and tough and all. but I really need advice from someone other than my friend Michael. There is a reason the only girl he's ever kissed is his cousin Ruth.
Patrick: Alright, listen girls are pack animals, you got to be the alpha dog show her you got fangs.
Cameron: I should... bite her!
Patrick: Dude seriously? You got to show her you can protect her.
Cameron: I can protect her, yeah I can do it this afternoon when I'm setting up her online commerce.
Patrick: Yeah you can protect her from all that unwanted spam.


(Kat is singing and dancing in her room until suddenly she notices Patrick watching her outside her window)
Kat: SWEET MOTHER...! (goes to the window and opens it) What the hell are you doing here!? It is at 11 o'clock at night! (sounding kinda muffly because she's wearing her retainer which after realising she has it on, she turns around and angrily takes out)
Patrick: Isn't it obvious? I'm a vampire, I need permission to enter.
Kat: Premission *not* granted!
Patrick: Good thing I'm not really a vampire. (goes through window) Vinyls? How old school.
Kat: I keep it real.
Patrick (going through her records): I never seen this Beatles album.
Kat: It was only released in the U.K. Those were my Mom's. She was a real purist.
Patrick: She sounds cool.
Kat: She was. (they exchange sad, understanding half smiles and he continues snooping) So, again what's with the breaking and entering?
Patrick: I had something I wanted to tell you.

(Partick is watching the sisters bickering, amused)
Walter (off screen): GIIIRLS!!!
Kat: Oh my God. Crap crap crap! (goes over to a totally relaxed Patrick and shoves him towards the window) Get out get out get out get out get out!

Kat: People could be losing their homes and you're worried about your hair. Ugh, you're worse than Anderson Cooper. (looking around for Patrick)
Bianca: Oooooo!!! You're looking for Patrick! You like him!
Kat: No, I don't.
Bianca: You want to *kiiiiiss* him.
Kat: Really? Are you five?
Bianca: I'm just excited to know that you're capable of physical attraction. Now, maybe, I won't have to suffer the burden of caring for you and your cats when you're old.
Kat: Sorry, I can't take you seriously with your hair like this. (Kat plays with Bianca's curls)
Chasity: Bianca!
Bianca: Face forward and don't say anything or I'll tell Patrick you want to have his babies.

Old Lady: Oh, who's that you're undressing with your eyes? Your boyfriend?
Kat: No... it's just this guy I know.
Old Lady: Oh missy, I wasn't born yesterday.
Kat: I can see that.

Kat: So, you made it. Where's your family?
Patrick: Oh, I killed them all. They were slowing me down.
Kat: Natural disasters do bring out the best in people. So, what was you big epiphany?
Bimbo (to Patrick): You're okay! Did you get my messages? I sent you like a million texts. When are we going to talk? You said you needed to tell me something?
Patrick: (protesting to Kat) It's not like that!
Kat: (upset) Sure it's not. Enjoy your chat. (walks away)

(Kat is staring at Patrick again)
Old Lady: Go after him already! Seaze the moment! Life if short, trust me I know!
Kat: You're old, I get it.

Kat: Why does everything you do have to be about Chastity. It's pathetic!
Bianca: Fine! I guess you'd rather be handing out water bottles to old ladies rather than making out with Patrick Verona, but you're right! I'm the one who's pathetic.
(Bianca walks away as Partick walks towards the staircase with Kat looking on. They exchange glances and he goes up the stairs)

(Patrick is sitting on the rooftop ledge, as Kat walks out)
Kat: Don’t jump.
Patrick: (looks behind and sees Kat) Aw, I don’t have to. You’re here now.
Kat: Ok jump.
Patrick: (chuckles) I’m only 3 stories up, all I’d do is break a leg.
Kat: It’d still be worth it. (she walks over to him)
Patrick: Come check this out. (points to the fire) It’s really beautiful.
Kat: If you don’t think about the homes being destroyed.
Patrick (leaning closer): Look over there. (pretends to fall then starts laughing as she catches him. Gets off the wall and walks towards her) See you don’t want me to jump.
Kat: (she shoves him lightly) You’re such a jerk.
Patrick: Now I can tell you what I wanted tell you.
Kat: Oohh I’m on pins and needles. Let me guess, is it the same thing you wanted to tell the girl downstairs?
Patrick: Ohh I like you when you’re jealous.
Kat: I’m not jealous, I’m appalled, there’s a difference.
Patrick: Look, I was gonna tell her she should stop stalking me.
Kat: Mmm... Big words from the guy who shows up unannounced in my bedroom window at 11 o’clock at night. That’s way past visiting hours...
Patrick: You talk a lot (he cups her face and kisses her)

(they're kissing on the roof and Kat pulls back all giddy)
Kat: Is that what you wanted to tell me?
Patrick: Sure. (he smiles and kisses her again but she pulls back again still smilling)
Kat: No, seriously!
Patrick: Oh, "Seriously"...! (she nods) Okay. I realised why I find you interesting.
Kat: Hm... Do tell...
Patrick: You're different from other girls. You have a mind of your own.
Kat: That must be a refreshing change for you.
Patrick: It is. You're not all clingy and needy. We can just make out and it doesn't have to be this whole big thing. (he leans in for a third kiss but she shoves him off, insulted)
Kat: Right... Right... because I'm a total ****, *but* I have a mind of my own.
Patrick: No, that's not what I meant.
Kat: Well, what did you mean?
Patrick: I meant you're not living some fairytale, where I'm your "Prince Charming."
Kat: Trust me, no one would mistake you for "Prince Charming." Prince Charles, maybe.
Patrick: Argh! And we were having such a nice time!
Kat: Unbelieveable! I'm worried about losing my home, all of my stuff, every memory and you just want to hook up.
Patrick: Why do you have to make everything so difficult?
Kat: What can I say. I'm not easy... (she walks away upset and leaves him on the roof equally upset)

Kat: Look, I'm off duty! Fire's over!
Old Lady: Oh! So I guess I don't have to show you what your boyfriend left for you.
Kat: He's not my boyfriend.
Old Lady (points): Over there. Missy, lighten up. I know a lot of cat ladies who started out like you.
(the Old Lady walks away and Kat walks over to where she pointed. It's her mother's vinyls waiting for her.)
