I am so not a fan of Avery/Scarlett, but I think that them hooking up again served a purpose in establishing that Avery has grown to a point where he's not threatened to be with someone more successful than him.
I agree with Tammi that Juliette and Avery's scenes together up to this point have all been quality, and served a purpose in advancing the audience's understanding of each character individually or their relationship (and in many cases, both). I have to give credit to Jonathan and Hayden. I watched them both as kids on their respective soaps back in the day, but I did not even register "OMG, I am shipping Luke Spencer and Lizzie Spaulding!" until after the last episode.  They have grown so much as actors.I really enjoy Juliette and Deacon as friends, but I ship them in a totally different way than Juliette/Avery. And one thing I loved about J&A's scenes in Maryland and him drooling over that guitar was that it felt like a reaction Deacon could have had but seeing Juliette in that situation with someone her own age was so refreshing. I think Avery is ahead of her at this point in terms of self-awareness and experience with relationships, but she obviously has an edge over him in terms of success and experience in the business. I like that they both have things to bring to the relationship and areas they need to grow in, but in the end they are young and can be discovering things together rather than feeling like one is always playing "catch up". I absolutely loved that they had him come to her mom's funeral and then apologize for it. Going to a funeral for a friend's loved one is so hard, and says a lot about him considering they weren't really very close yet at that point. I don't think he is perfect, but I think he was exactly what Juliette needed in that moment. |

I know we will get Juliette tonight but I really hope for some Avery also. I ship them as a couple but I love them as solo characters too.
