Welcome to the FIRST Appreciation thread for Matt and Emily from Primeval!

Matt is from the future. And Emily is from the past. And they met in the present. Their love story is simply beautiful and touching. Both are very independent type of individuals who don't let other people in. But with each other, they found a support system and complete trust. She was the first person he told that he is from the future, and the future was in trouble. He trusted her with that big secret.

Primeval is a supernatural "Lost World" type of a show where you have a team who deals with "creatures" who come through to the present time. Matt is the leader of the team. Both Matt and Emily join the show in series 4. Series 5 is just now beginning to air, and Emily is back! So that's exciting!

What Others Say About Them:
Ciaran (Matt) : Matt and Emily are like kindred spirits- they share a sense of adventure and love the adrenalin of chasing down a creature and solving a situation. Of course, both Matt and Emily have their own obligations- Matt to his mission and Emily to her husband and her life back in the Victorian era. But it’s clear at the end of series four that Matt and Emily find it hard to separate; if there’s any chance they can to be together again, overcoming their existing lives will be the hardest obstacle.

Ruth (Emily) : I think he is pleased to see her. He’s got this whole journey going on as well, so he sees her as someone to confide in. She’s carrying all this information for him, and they kind of depend on each other in a very subtle way. They’re so independent and very much equal. Neither of them are the type of people to say [adopts sweet voice] ‘I love youuuuu’ because that would certainly make her too vulnerable, and she’s so not a vulnerable person.

Because he came with FLOWERS when she had to remain confined in the ARC

Because he always comes for her, that's how they met and that's why she told him "why took you so long". She knew he'd come, as he always did.

I so love Matt and Emily =)

These two were the new beginning for me and this series. I thought this series wouldn't had been able to continue on without the original cast, and then they brought this new story arc and I so wanted this show to continue on.
