I love that they are still on best couples lists.

It's also a shame too, because when you do a rewatch of just their scenes, you realize how little interaction they really have in season 5. I mean, some episodes they didn't even cross paths. At least it finally picked up in Season 6. |

Yep, I was doing a rewatch and got to Season 5 and it's killing me and I just had to quit. I need to get back on it. But it's so weird seeing them act like they didn't even date.

THIS!!! Anything. Give me something/ Longing looks. Awkward run ins. Angst. Anything that shows that they had history and beautiful meaningful relationship and miss each other. It really ticks me off seeing how during Pacey and Joey's relationship the writers had it seem like Dawson's was still on her mind. Like having it seem like she was jealous over Gretchen and Dawson. Yet when it came to Pacey, they had Joey basically forcing him on Audrey and when Joey got mugged, it was almost like Pacey could care less. The writers tried to erase their history, I am guessing to pave the way back for Joey and Dawson, but then they brought in Eddie. It was all confusing how the writers took the one long lasting meaningful relationship on the show and swept it under the rug as if it was nothing. So in Castaways when Pacey admitted he was always wanting to kiss her, it was nice to hear that. At least it showed he still thought about her in that way, even if it seemed like he didn't at times cause of the writing in Season 5. |

I hated how their relationship was written in season 5. They just put Joey pack to wanting Dawson and that made no sense whatsoever.

Exactly, any time D/J try to become a couple it always blows up in their face. I also agree their rushed and forced kiss at the end of S4 was all sorts of wrong because Joey was vulnerable cause of just recently breaking up with Pacey, he just left town, and they were about to go to college (A HUGE change) She was basically just defaulting to her security blanket again, then they instantly fall apart once again in S5. Their a toxic daydream and always have been.
