Are you talking about the shipper list on the main page?
It's the list of the fans of this couple.

“I believe if there’s any kind of God it wouldn’t be in any of us, not you or me but just this little space in between. If there’s any kind of magic in this world it must be in the attempt of understanding someone sharing something. I know, it’s almost impossible to succeed but who cares really? The answer must be in the attempt.”
- Before Sunrise (1995)

“I guess when you’re young, you believe that there will be many people; with whom you’ll connect with. During live, you realize it only happens a few times.”
- Before Sunset 2004

“In some strange way, those characters are alter egos of Julie and I. My favourite kind of writing and my favourite kind of performing is when you can tell it cost somebody something. That’s why Before Sunset will always be very dear to my heart.”
| Ethan Hawke

“What I love about Celine, what I felt really proud about that script, is that she’s really a fully dimensional woman. It’s very rare in movies that you don’t see a male projection of a fantasy woman. I mean, Julie deserves 90% of the credit, 100% of the credit, but I feel proud of the collaboration that created that character. Her work in that movie is my favorite thing about it.”
— Ethan Hawke on Julie Deply’s part in Before Sunrise and Before Sunset (2004)

GAH, why are they so perfect?! I NEVER ship RL couples, but Jesse and Celine's chemistry is SO palpable that I just can't help but ship Ethan/Julie a little bit!

THOSE PICTURES!!

I wrote a fanfic based on these two amazing movies. It's for a less popular TV fandom (cancelled series), but I wrote an epic love story about how the 2 main opposing characters (they're enemies on the series) meet in Paris and fall in love, then reunite in the States 3 years later. May or may not have borrowed some dialogue from Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.

Excuse me while I go drool all over these pictures.

Oh, I'm so glad you want to read it! The show I wrote for is Tru Calling, but with a Before Sunrise/Sunset type plot device. It was written for something on LiveJournal and we're not allowed to post finished stories yet, but when we are I'd be happy to link you. I hope you'll enjoy it!

On a bit of an unrelated note, my friend showed me 500 Days of Summer (loved it!) and parts of it reminded me of Before Sunrise/Before Sunset. I'm going to show my friend Before Sunrise next.

Ethan Hawke Says 'Before Sunrise'/ 'Before Sunset' Followup Shoots This Summer
News by Kevin Jagernauth - June 13, 2012 5:18 PM

It's rare for two films as perfectly pitched and utterly delightful as "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset" to come along, but can Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy and Richard Linklater three-peat? That's going to be the big question as news of the proposed followup has once again reared its head, and should it actually turn out to be fact, we could be seeing it very soon.

But first to recap: last fall, Hawke teased that he was re-teaming with Delpy and Linklater to write and make the film. "All of three of us have been having similar feelings that we're ready to revisit those characters. There's nine years between the first two movies and, if we made the film next summer, it would be nine years again so we're really started thinking that would be a good thing to do. We're going to try write it this year," Hawke said. However, Delpy poured cold water on that notion back in January saying, "We're thinking about it, but it's not official." But perhaps now things are moving along?

Chatting with Indiewire recently, Hawke seemed pretty confident the movie was going to get made, and even teased a little bit of what it might entail: "We’re also doing a follow-up to 'Before Sunrise' and 'Before Sunset,' so that will be fun. We’re going to shoot that this summer," he said. "I’ve gotten into trouble, so I’m sworn to secrecy. The biggest change between this one and the last one is the internet."

Hmm... Will Jesse and Celine continue their relationship on Skype? Maybe find each other all over again on Match.com? Get swindled by a Nigerian Prince scam? All we know is the magic of the previous films lied in the simple interactions between Hawke and Delpy, and we hope this doesn't fall too far down the technological rabbit hole. But will anything beat the closing shot of "Before Sunset"?

We'll see if this comes to fruition though. When we spoke to Linklater in April, he was pretty cagey about what he was up to next, though he might've been trying to keep this under wraps. And if anything, the "Before Sunrise"/"Before Sunset" films are the kind of low-key productions that could be made on the fly and under the radar. But expectations will be very high, so let's hope that if they do it, they do it right.

Ethan Hawke Says Another Linklater SUNRISE Movie To Shoot This Summer!
Published at: Jun 13, 2012 4:24:59 PM CDT

Nordling here.

"Baby, you're gonna miss that plane."

And with that, BEFORE SUNSET ended, with Jesse (Ethan Hawke) sitting in Celine's (Julie Delpy) apartment, swooning (yeah, I said swooning) with love and adoration after hearing her sing. For those of us who love this series of romantic films by Richard Linklater, that final line was a kick to the gut - will Jesse stay with Celine after all? What of his marriage? And what of Celine's relationship with her photographer? And what does it all mean?

Generationally, Linklater's BEFORE SUNRISE/BEFORE SUNSET are beautiful love stories for the Generation X set, and yet they aren't simple meet cute stories, either. These are thematically rich movies, showing the many faces of love and how life can complicate something as pure as two soulmates meeting again. These are complex people with issues, and while the first one is about young love, unfettered (yet) by life, and full of relative innocence, BEFORE SUNSET is about those complications and how these two deal with them even as their love for each other blooms again. It's hard to believe 9 years have passed already.

Today Ethan Hawke confirmed, via Indiewire, "We’re also doing a follow-up to BEFORE SUNRISE and BEFORE SUNSET, so that will be fun. We’re going to shoot that this summer." He also stated that it's a different world in regard to these movies now: "The biggest change between this one and the last one is the Internet. The first time we did it, we didn’t have any pressure; nobody gave a ****.” So I'd imagine that everyone involved is keeping plot points close to the chest.

I think these films are wonderful and I'm excited to see the continuation? conclusion? to this series.

BROWN: When did you learn to speak French?

HAWKE: [laughs] Well, I was supposed to learn in 11th and 12th grade, but I don't think I did every well. Julie Delpy tried to teach me for years, and I'm not very good at speaking French. But it was sure fun to live in Paris and make that movie. You know, I'd made Before Sunset in Paris, too. Making that movie was the best French lesson I've had.

(...)

BROWN: Was Julie upset that you finally made a movie in which you spoke French without her?

HAWKE: No, she helped me work on my lines. She was my vocal coach.

BROWN: Can we expect another Paris set-film with Julie Delpy now that you can speak French?

HAWKE: We're trying to work on a third movie. The first one's in Vienna, the second one's in Paris, and I don't know what city the third one will be in, but it probably won't be the same one.

BROWN: Did you always know that you were going to make a third one now?

HAWKE: My answer to that question when people ask me is that I'd be surprised if we didn't. The thing that has surprised me the most is how quickly time has gone by. There were nine years between the first two and, if we make the movie this summer, it'll be the exact same amount of time between all three movies. That's kind of amazing to me.

BROWN: Does you feel like the clock is ticking, you have to make it now?

HAWKE: Yeah, I think we all realized last September that, if we want them to have a certain kind of structure that would be linear, we'd better get writing. So we've kind of been pushing ourselves to see if we have something relevant to say if the timing is right.

BROWN: And how do you write? Do you physically get together or do you write by email?

HAWKE: Both. It has to start with being together, and then once we've been together and are kind of united in a plan of attack, then we can go off as individuals a little bit.

BROWN: Do you have a specific meeting city or does it change each time?

HAWKE: It changes completely. We've met in Austin, we've met in New York, and we've met in LA.

From a new Julie Delpy Interview

Quote:
I’m sure you’re getting asked this a million times a day right now, but are there any updates on the third Before Sunrise movie?
We [Ethan Hawke and Richard Linklater] actually started writing it, so …

Are you going to keep “sun” in the title?
That I don’t know yet. But I think “before” is gonna be in the title.

You’re running out of times of day with the word “sun” in it.
Yeah, sunrise, sunset, what else? Sundown? No, that wouldn’t be good.

You could always move on to “moon”?
No, that’s cheesy. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens. First we have to write it.
