Damon/Elena are not an easy couple to ship, especially in S2, but I somehow always get attached to this kind of couples. Damon is at the very beginning of his journey. He needs to learn to control his instincts since he had been a ruthless killer for many many years. It doesn't take an evening to change. It's like an insane person becoming normal again per night which is impossible. This is not how it goes, you cannot challenge yourself and win the war spending less than a day on fighting. The fight against yourself is always the hardest one. And this is what Damon has to do now. He is doing great and by the end of S2 he made up for his mistakes and tried so hard to be a better man. Elena is the one who can challenge him and she is not gonna close her eyes on his mistakes, but she also sees how much he tries and she sees that he needs help and she is ready to help him. They are there for each other and they are ready to stay by each other's side no matter how hard it gets. This to me is the amaziness of them.

Oh yes, I heard that, people say it's a tough journey. But I seriously doubt that I would hate them, maybe lose part of my interest but hate? I don't think that's possible. Just please tell me that DE continue with some of that spark they had in S1, which was what drew me to them in the first place.

Yes Xander was a jerk at times (and so was Cordy), I think that's due to the fact that they didn't want to admit the seriousness of the what they shared, they both struggled for the upper hand. But I do believe they cared for one another even if at times they didn't say it or made it as clear as they could have.

Oh I understand what you mean about having time, my to watch list just keeps on growing too!

DE is one of the hardest couples that I have ever had to ship, to tell the honest truth. For example, if I had watched Spike/Buffy's journey live all the way from S5 and beyond (I'm using them because they have had the most roller coaster-like relationship I have ever seen, not because I'm actively trying to compare the two couples), then they would have been difficult for me to ship, but as it happened, I knew what would happen. I knew that everything would eventually turn itself inside out, hate would turn to love, and they would end up having one of the most profound connections I've ever seen. With DE, I don't have that luxury. I don't know how it's going to turn out for them, but all I knew is that it's leading up to something. There will be a payoff eventually, although I'm not sure what form that payoff will take.

All I know is that Damon is trying. Like you said, you can't turn into a better person overnight. It takes time. There are ups and downs. Sometimes, there are horrific mistakes that set Damon back, but in the end, he continues to fight. Why? Partly because of Elena, partly because she believes that he can be a better man, but now... I think that Elena has given him the confidence to believe that he can be the better man on his own terms. Like Andie said, love changes a person. Damon might think that he can't be a good person, that he can only be a monster, but the truth is that he is so much more than that. He's still struggling against his darker nature. It takes a while. It will continue to take a while. At this point, however, Damon's learned so much. He's come so far and I have all the faith in the world that he will turn into a man capable of greatness, to use one of his own terms.

He'll become a better man because he wants to be, for his own sake, not just because of Elena.

Just... be prepared for lots of ups and downs. The last two episodes are flawless for them, though, so you can look forward to those.

Yes. They were two very stubborn people who fought for control, and sometimes, that drove the other person away. However, they did share a bond. Sometimes I wish that Cordelia had returned to Sunnydale at least once, in order to revisit their relationship, but I think the beauty of the relationship is the fleeting nature of it. It wasn't built to last, but while it did happen, it was great.

I really need to stop adding shows to my To Watch list, especially since I won't have time to watch anything for the next six weeks.

I agree that Season 1 is the best DJo season.

After that it was like they didn't know what to do with them. I really have a love/hate for them.

PJo were written So much better. Then Katie/Josh had So much chemistry too.

I tend to ship the love/hate couples the most.

It makes sense since my OTP are like the ultimate love/hate couple.

Things that I adore about her:
Her idealistic nature and the readiness to fight for the cause no matter what. Her inability to, even in the chaos of the post-apocalyptic world, accept that anything goes in the name of survival. Her ability to stand up for herself and others. Her intelligence.

Things that are not necessarily positive, but I love watching her struggle with them:
Her inability to deal with her own emotions and her unsuccessful attempts to deny and put them under the control of her reason, and the emotional outburst that result from that.


Tai-San/Life
Things I adore about her:
The individualism and the spirituality. The fact she'll stand by her beliefs no matter what others think of them. The willingness to search for the best in people even if nobody else sees anything good in them (Ebony, the Guardian. even Lex to a certain extent) and tied to that, her capacity for forgiveness. How intuitive and insightful she can be in relation to the true natures of the people around her (e.g. the way she saw right through Amber in s1 like nobody else).

Things that are not necessarily positive, but I love watching her struggle with them:
Her constant reminder of how relative certain values others take for granted actually are.

Things I adore about her:
Her love for justice. Her drive to discover the truth. Her willingness to stand up against the oppression of any kind (Chosen, Ebony, Techons) and even the authorities she respects censoring what the public should and should not know (Bray in relation to the whole Danni's father thing). Her assertiveness.

Her unwavering stubbornness.

Things I adore about him:
The humanity and kindness hidden behind the jerk attitude. His capacity to genuinely care for other human beings, even though he doesn't like it and doesn't want to admit it. His ability to actually realise he can be an idiot and admit it (too bad it takes a virus to bring it out, lol). His unrestrained rage over the city tyrants just getting away with it (I'm not with his often "kill 'em all" attitude, but someone needs to feel and voice that rage).

Things that are not necessarily positive, but I love watching him struggle with them:
His relationship towards power. There is no denying he's power hungry and more than willing to abuse power if he gets it (neither of which I like), but that little notion that his craving for power also has to do with him simply wanting to be liked/respected (his s1 acceptance of the Chief of Security title Amber invented for him, his s3 joy over the fact a kid recognized him as an authority.

Things I adore about him:
Everything really. He is just the adorkable socially awkward, tad conceited nerd type that is so easy to love. Especially adore the sense of humour.

Firefly is EPIC. Gah I love that show sfm. One of my fav shows ever even though it didn't even last a full season, lol.

Fringe is great, abit slow to start off and took me awhile to get into, but once I did, there was no looking back.

The third season of VM wasn't that good imo, lol. Shame because the first season is practically flawless and the second was solid.

I've started watching X-files for the first time. Seen 4 eps of S1...it's ok so far.

ITA completelly It doesn't take you a day to become normal and mentally stable, it is a supernatural show, I know, but a lot of things there are linked to real life and in real life such things require time. Damon tries very hard. He was willing to sacrifice his life for Jenna and later nearly died protecting Caroline. He jumped in front of her knowing that a wherewolf bite will kill him, but he still did it. And it had nothing to do with Elena, because he didn't even tell Elena about the bite. He genuinly cared about Caroline, she might be like a little sister to him now who annoys the hell out of him, but when her life was in danger he was ready to die for her.

I'm ready to go through this with DE and not gonna regret that I ship them. Damon needs help, Elena is there to help him. The save each other on so many levels and that's what is amazing about them.



Tamara, your love for The Tribe is very inspiring and it is just so sweet It reminds me of my eternal love for Xena And I love your TT posts, they are always so informative, intellegent and enjoyable to read.

Callista I shipped Spuffy from the end of Season 5 on. I think I would have gone crazy if I hadn't had the great fandom. They gave me great vids and fics. I actually enjoyed their dark relationship. The biggest reason they became my OTP is because how much they went through and never gave up on each other. In the end they formed the strongest most beautiful love/connection that I've ever seen. They really had it all. They could be angsty sweet and funny. I've never seen so much UST tension or chemistry between two actors.
Plus SMG/JM blow me away with their acting too.
