I disagree with the comment. Kasia has herself talked about how much of it is luck, in terms of how lucky she was to be cast with Lucy -- their 'responding' to each other. That's true. Certainly. I can tell you from my own acting experiences that it's easier to work with someone you like, you have good energy with and you don't have to work as hard to create a connection. As an actor, I find Kasia incredibly subtle, but profoundly expressive and deeply committed. As a singer and dancer, she just lights things on fire and throws caution to the wind. ...but watching Emma fall in love and transforming before our eyes would likely have been quite delightful with another actor playing opposite Kasia as well. Lucy is a very big and charismatic presence-onscreen or onstage from what i can tell. the same could be said of her with another actor than Kasia. It would have been different, yes, but these two are both really talented.

Casting IS important and it can be dreadful when chemistry is too obviously 'manufactured.' What these two TOGETHER gave us, was unquestionably a bit of 'lightning in a bottle.' Hard to capture twice, yes, but that does NOT mean Kasia and Lucy won't be/haven't been FANTASTIC in other roles. Full stop.
