KY is known for horses so mostly stuff around here is about that. There is the Horse Park just North of Lexington. Easy to get to. They have a nice museum there & they used to have polo games every Sunday. To relate this to Jemma, I read KB likes horses. Last year they hosted the World Equestrian Games that were in Germany the time before.There are driving tours you can take through the countryside to see some of the Thouroughbred Horse farms if you like drives. Midway is a pretty town with a bunch of horse farms. The Queen of England has stays at one these Midway farms. Can't remember which one. There all pretty. The barns cost more than my house. There is the Headley-Whitney Museum. DeSha's is a fancy downtown restaurant if you like that. If you like history, there is the Henry Clay estate or Mary Todd Lincoln house that you can visit. If you like museums: The Speed Art Museum is just a little over an hour away in Louisville. Also, Churchill Downs is there where they run the Kentucky Derby. Sorry for the long OT post. |
