Yes, it is often very similar, and when you decide to learn Dutch, you will learn it in no time. All my friends from Germany picked it up very fast.:D

But it is a little bit unfair (a little bit because we are such a small country) that we have German at highschool for at least 5 years ( and French and English) and nobody learns our language!:goof:

It never happens, though, it's definitely frowned upon, and the teacher can be procecuted for other reasons. I'd have to check if the teacher-student dynamic would make a difference, but, technically, 16's the limit.

It is unfair. But that's also what makes this language great. It's not spoken in a lot of countries and actually a pretty hard language. Even for Dutch students, it's one of the most difficult subjects. (with all the exceptions).
