Hey Carol do you know what CDH is regarding newborns? My big boss just sent over a text saying that they got devestating news about one of his new grandbabies, but he didn't elaborate

Wow! This child is going through a lot in it's short life. He was born with cleft pallet as well

I think they are deciding what specialty hospital they are going to take him. Thanks for the info. I had no idea what it was.

I think CDH = Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. The wide, flat muscle that separates the chest and abdominal cavities is called the diaphragm. The diaphragm forms when a fetus is at 8 weeks’ gestation. When it does not form completely, a defect, called a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), is created. This is a hole in the muscle between the chest and the abdomen.
