Did anyone catch The Simpsons tonight??

They just drove a bailer over a pile of manure and it turned out copies of AWE on DVD!!

Clearly the Simpsons writers are Sparrabeth shippers.

That would make a perfect title for this thread because it is sooo true!

I Jack/Elizabeth, but I really didn't expect Disney to actually have them end together. If Disney is anything, it's predictable. So since I was almost certain, we wouldn't get a Sparrabeth ending, I was rooting for Lizzie to end up by herself (for now). It would be nice for Disney to show that a woman doesn't have to be with a man to make her life complete. Plus, Elizabeth was extremely young...only around 19 or 20. I would have liked it if she had decided to go it on her own for a while...to really discover who she truly is. And then when she finishes that...she'd naturally end up with Jack But of course, according to Disney, the woman ALWAYS has to end up the boring, goody-two-shoes...and give up her life and happiness to cater to him.

Lizzie was a PIRATE and for Will, she had to give up the life she so obviously loved to wait around on land to see him once every ten years. If he had really loved her, he would have released her from that obligation. He was far more selfish than Jack, IMHO. Will was only worried about what he'd get out of the deal. He didn't seem to care that Lizzie's life pretty much ended that day too...that he had locked her right back up in that cage she'd been trying to escape her whole life. If Will had truly loved her, he would have put her needs before his own. Yet, he did not which makes his love more of a selfish love than a giving love. I'm not saying JAck was perfect, but he was perfect for Lizzie. He was willing to give up immortality to make Lizzie happy. He certainly didn't do it for Will. Jack was willing to make huge sacrifices for her, but Will wasn't. IMHO, that makes Jack the better man ad the better man for Elizabeth.

Exactly

Neither Jack nor Elizabeth were perfect. But as you said ... they were perfect for eachother

Hmmm...how can we make that scene into a potential future title for this thread?

Because The Simpsons, shoveled crap and AWE DVDs pooped out!

...note the use of pooped in place of popped

I just think it's too freaking ironic that they chose AWE out of all the bad movies in the world. Apparently, they felt that one was the most worthy

It certainly wasn't the worst movie ever, but it was one of the biggest disappointments ever in sequels...especially considering how good the first two were. I'd say Batman and Robin certainly has it beat for worst big summer blockbuster sequel though. But AWE was bad in it's own right.

Oh God, I never thought I would've been so disappointed seeing George Clooney in a rubber suit. But that movie was all kinds of bad
