I think there is a huge, unknowable draw for Jack to Kate. At the same time, it’s there and there’s a real, internal draw within him and between the two of them. ~Matthew Fox

I don’t think that book is closed, at all. Kate has a real journey to go on with Jack, in that, they’ve never addressed the underlying current of attraction and love between them. It has to be addressed. ~Evangeline Lilly

I feel like any audience member who is what they call a Jater has got to be living a life of perpetual frustration. We've never had Jack & Kate come to fruition. We never yet had any real sense of like aaaahhhhh...okay finally they've let their guards down and everything is nice and they're good, without it being torn away in one episode. It's my hope that if Kate & Jack are gonna end up together in the final result of this show that we'll see that. That it won't be like the last moment, and they look each other in the eye and they think, okay this is gonna work. That we actually get to see it work. That we actually get to see them care about each other in more then just 22 minutes of an episode, but actually to have it to become something that is real. I'd like to see that. ~Evangeline Lilly

Jack is the guy that she should be with. She does genuinely love him and she knows that he would take excellent care of her. ~Damon Lindelof

I think that these two people have reached a point, where they are more accepting of who the other person is. When that happens, then there is a really deep attraction, not just physically, but emotionally, a need. And getting to be more accepting of each other’s shortcomings leaves that desire, which has always been there. And, if anything, has only been growing for an emotional connection, and leaves it more open for that to happen. Right now is the closest they have ever been. ~Matthew Fox

Jack and Kate are a classical romantic couple. They are amazed by each other, and as the time runs, they start to depend on each other, care about each other, and the connection between them is getting stronger. There is always something, someone in their way. That makes the audience support them all the time. ~Damon Lindelof

My own opinion is, that I think that the Jack and Kate thing will be an over-arching, long-term, thing on the show. I think a lot of fans want to see that happen. They’re two people that are obviously very drawn to each other. And they’ll come and flow until they finally end up together at some point. ~Matthew Fox

The original plan in season one was definitely to get them together. Then the more time spent on the island, the more Jack would sort of represent to Kate what she would want, stability, comfort, and a real adult love. ~Damon Lindelof

They are now emotinally conected more then they have ever been. If you removed all the circumstances that are getting in the way of them beeing together romantically, I think they could be together at this point. But there are so many things going on and so many things requiring their attention and energy. It's like two ships constanly passing in the night, but they really are connected through time and space. ~Matthew Fox

If Jack and Kate could just sort it out, they could make each other very happy. Ultimately, that's what they need. Without love, everything else pales and feels like the colors are turned down. For Jack to give over the vulnerability of loving Kate, and for Kate to give that over to Jack, it would be so momentous, and that's why they can't bring us here yet. Essentially, what I feel it will represent is that they actually redeemed themselves. They faced their demons and insecurities and made such a significant step forward in their lives that hey will probably now be harmonious in a way they have never been before. "You did a good thing saying what you said -- taking care of everybody and just giving them something to count on. If you weren't here, Jack...
I'm going to the hatch. I understand why you can't go. They need you here. I get it. I do. But Locke's going into that thing whether you like it or not. And if he falls and breaks his neck... Live together, die alone, right?"

"Hey."
"Hey."
"You, um, you took a shower."
"I had to see if it worked."
"How was it?"
"Uh, pressure sucked, it kind of went
cold at one point, and it smelled a little
bit like sulfur. but it was a shower."
"Yeah, I know what you mean."
"You could use one."
"Maybe a little later."
"I'll leave the shampoo for you."

"You hooked it. Try keeping your left arm straight."
"You giving me tips?"
"Kate, I'm a doctor."
"So, you think you could do better?"

they come after you."

"You remember what I told you on the beach? The
day of the crash.

"When you get safe, you radio me, and you tell that story."

"If I don't get a call from you in the next hour, I'm
going to know something went wrong, and he dies!"
