I mean, imagine this - First of all I would have done away with some non-Sparrabeth things, like Norrie. Killing him was pointless, having him choose the side of the pirates and then actually join them would have been so much cooler.

And the whole Tia/Davy story was so cool - but it was unfinished. Finish it, dammit. Cut out the ridiculous 50 ft woman and finish off her love story with Davy.

And the W/E wedding - never should have happened. It was awful, and not just because it was W/E. It took away from the battle and the battle itself was really cool. The dialogue was so ridiculously bad, people were laughing in the theatre. And it came out of nowhere, they were fighting the entire movie up until that point. So get rid of it. Have him ask Lizzie to marry him and then she just answers back with her "I don't think now is the best time" and the battle resumes. That enables the movie to keep up the tension from the love triange throughout the whole battle. And who doesn't love a little love triangle tension

I mean, if she turns Will down and Jack is onboard the FD, Will is going to be watching Lizzie and Jack, Lizzie will be watching Will and Jack, Jack will be watching Will and Lizzie and all that tension is a hell of a lot more intersting then that vomit inducing wedding. Plus, that makes more sense when Will gets stabbed. He's distracted because he's watching Lizzie and Jack. And, it really makes Will more of a sympathetic and sort of mythologically tragic character because he doesn't get the girl.

I would keep the parachute rescue scene because it was the best damn scene in the whole movie. And the whole Will and the FD joining in the battle because that was pretty kick-ass, too.

But then instead of the whole W/E island crap have a scene with Will letting Elizabeth go. And Will and Jack acknowledging their friendship and the fact that they both love the same woman. Lizzie can still meet Will in ten years, there's nothing that says she can't. And I think she would always love him, just not a romantic kind of love. Will gets his father and he gets the destiny. He's destiny boy. not lover boy. Plus, Will now has Calypso as she's the sea and he's the ferryman.

And then instead of Barbs stealing the Pearl, why doesn't Barbs steal the map. Cause Jack would be on the Pearl with Lizzie instead of whoring in Tortuga so there wouldn't be a chance for Barbs to get the Pearl. So Jack realizes Barbs has the map, he and Lizzie and the crew, which would now include Norrie, sail off on the Pearl to catch Barbs and the map to the Fountain of Youth.

First, before I even liked J/E Tanith I loved the Jack/Will friendship and I was totally hoping that they would do a closure on that but they had to do the ::shiver:: island scene and leave every other story line hanging.

About the Will and the earing and scarf. Although I must say he looked very sexy with his earing and scarf. I think it's the eyeliner personally

If they would have written it like the novelization I don't think I would be complaining as much, because the novel had so many amazing JE scenes. Like the fact that Jack wanted to take Lizzie away on the Pearl. HELLO? So a Jack thing to do. But alas TnT decided to erase DMC.

Tanith- That was amazing. Seriously. If that had been the movie, I would have seen it about 8 times by now. Hell, when I walked out of DMC the first time, which incidentally was the beginning of my Sparrabeth obsession (and what actually got me hooked to PotC in the first place) that is the movie I thought we were going to get. I literally remember walking out with a huge grin on my face thinking, "Ooh, I'm so excited to see Will give up Elizabeth and all the tension that goes before that." Because honestly, let's face it. Love triangles seriously kick. I mean, even my non-Sparrabether friends (which are actually few and far between ) thought this movie was going to end J/E. Heck, I would have been happier if they had used your idea and then made it W/E at the end. Just a little bit of acknowledgment would have been nice, you know? Rather than the slap on the face that was AWE. I walked out of the theater at 1 AM and seriously felt like crying.

This may be a tad embarrassing to admit, but that night I didn't sleep. Not a wink. I was up going over the movie and how it could have ended so badly. How the writers didn't see what I saw. It's like someone else here said. I usually ship the couple that ends up together. I have really good instincts about it, actually. So this was a huge surprise for me.

It's not embarassing at all. In fact, the night of the premiere I remember we were on this thread until 4am waiting for spoilers. I was exhausted but just couldn't sleep without knowing if J/E ended up together.
