And so many movies in the top 10 were released in May. I'll say it again. AWE had everything going for it to be huge. Great release date. Record number of theatres. Unfortunately it also had it's crapitude. And alas, that was its downfall.

And yeah the whole May crap is total BS.

This movie could have been SOOOOOO huge. I think it could have even challenged Titanic if it had been as kick ass as we were hoping. I mean, those are amazing numbers for a movie that sucked

Imagine if it had been good.

If AWE had a decent ending...I'd be in the theatre watching it right now. They'd probably have 200 of my precious dollars already. But I only went once...and it was a matinee...so it was only $7! Suckers.

600 million is a lot and no movie has even come close, not even Star Wars.

Yeah, with all the huge movies still to come this summer AWE is pretty much screwed. It needed to kick major, major ass for like a month like DMC did. Cause now there's Die Hard, HP, Transformers. AWE is in trouble. God that's so freaking sad.

I better go to bed, too. I have a crazy day tomorrow.

Totally agree with you there! Actually i am a bit surprised myself.....I was so sure it would be as big a blockbuster as DMC but I guess the only thing that was different was the whole love triangle.

I still think that it was Jack and Lizzie who bought people to the theatres in DMC and Will and Lizze that made them never wanna come back for AWE!

I've actually read several good fics in which W/A hook up. I find the pairing to be very interesting

I also think Will/Tia is a really cool pair.

Yeah, it really had the potential to do better than DMC had the ending been good. The anticipation alone for this movie was un-freaking believeable. People were salavating like dogs for this movie to come out.

I mean, imagine this - First of all I would have done away with some non-Sparrabeth things, like Norrie. Killing him was pointless, having him choose the side of the pirates and then actually join them would have been so much cooler.

And the whole Tia/Davy story was so cool - but it was unfinished. Finish it, dammit. Cut out the ridiculous 50 ft woman and finish off her love story with Davy.

And the W/E wedding - never should have happened. It was awful, and not just because it was W/E. It took away from the battle and the battle itself was really cool. The dialogue was so ridiculously bad, people were laughing in the theatre. And it came out of nowhere, they were fighting the entire movie up until that point. So get rid of it. Have him ask Lizzie to marry him and then she just answers back with her "I don't think now is the best time" and the battle resumes. That enables the movie to keep up the tension from the love triange throughout the whole battle. And who doesn't love a little love triangle tension

I mean, if she turns Will down and Jack is onboard the FD, Will is going to be watching Lizzie and Jack, Lizzie will be watching Will and Jack, Jack will be watching Will and Lizzie and all that tension is a hell of a lot more intersting then that vomit inducing wedding. Plus, that makes more sense when Will gets stabbed. He's distracted because he's watching Lizzie and Jack. And, it really makes Will more of a sympathetic and sort of mythologically tragic character because he doesn't get the girl.

I would keep the parachute rescue scene because it was the best damn scene in the whole movie. And the whole Will and the FD joining in the battle because that was pretty kick-ass, too.

But then instead of the whole W/E island crap have a scene with Will letting Elizabeth go. And Will and Jack acknowledging their friendship and the fact that they both love the same woman. Lizzie can still meet Will in ten years, there's nothing that says she can't. And I think she would always love him, just not a romantic kind of love. Will gets his father and he gets the destiny. He's destiny boy. not lover boy. Plus, Will now has Calypso as she's the sea and he's the ferryman.

And then instead of Barbs stealing the Pearl, why doesn't Barbs steal the map. Cause Jack would be on the Pearl with Lizzie instead of whoring in Tortuga so there wouldn't be a chance for Barbs to get the Pearl. So Jack realizes Barbs has the map, he and Lizzie and the crew, which would now include Norrie, sail off on the Pearl to catch Barbs and the map to the Fountain of Youth.

See, isn't that much more better. Wouldn't that have made people want to go back and see it again??

I have lots of J/E fics what are you looking for? Do you like angst or J/E marriage/kids, or smut or just all of the above

The delted scenes were scenes from the Bretheren meeting, scenes between Gov Swann/Norrie/Beckett, and a scene in the Parlay scene which talked about J/E, and some lines at the end between J/E. Am I missing any?? Can anybody else think of more deleted scenes?

As far as caps from Will's death I only have the ones that were in my AWE album. On LJ there were caps of the whole movie. Try going to LJ and searching for AWE caps.

Jonathan Pryce who plays Gov Swann is in tons of movies. He was also in "Evita" he played Madonna's husband, and he was the original Engineer in "Miss Saigon" on Broadway for those of you who've seen that play.

Tia was weird

But I really liked her character.

And I don't know why but for some reason I just liked Will and Tia. I thought in the few scenes they had together there was an amazing sexual tension. Plus with Will as the CotFD and Tia as Calypso, it only makes sense that they would hook up eventually. It kind of seems like it's part of the job

Like Will's earring and scraf apparently. Become CotFD - get an earring
