| You guys know how I like to spew box office statistics. So here's another little comparison I found interesting. This is showing the difference between a movie that has good buzz, or word of mouth (I'm using 'Knocked Up'), and AWE, which we all know has pretty crappy word of mouth and even worse buzz.2nd week of release AWE dropped 61.5% Knocked Up dropped 36% 3rd week of release AWE dropped 52.2% Knocked Up droppped 28.4% 4th week of release AWE dropped 41.3% Knocked Up dropped 22% Word of mouth is a big deal. That's what is going to get someone who is indifferent about a movie into the theatre. This, along with lack of repeat business, is what is causing the disappointing box office results for AWE, and the big drops week to week. Bottom line is...who is going to recommend this movie to their friends? Maybe if their friends are really extremely happy people who need to be brought down.  | |||
