Tru, I love your icon

Still looking for box office numbers but I did find these little gems guaranteed tomake you smile

“The tension between Elizabeth and Will also seems a bit contrived, with both characters alienating each other for the sake of the plot. If their love is timeless, why so many betrayals and misunderstandings? (The manner in which their fate is resolved is sure to surprise and tick off some "Pirates" fans. Suffice to say their honeymoon is weirdly truncated.)”

“chemistry-challenged love interests Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley.”

“Jack and Elizabeth’s relationship evolved from harmless (for a pirate) flirtation to the threat of actual romance... while Bloom and Knightley remain as bland as melba toast”

"I didn't see the ending coming. I'll give it that. Otherwise, the eagerly awaited climax to the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy lies as bloated and dead as the sea serpent washed up on one of its beaches. Every positive trace of its predecessors has been scoured away: the frivolity and lightness that rescued an entire genre from obscurity have vanished... Bloom and Knightley rapidly morph from adequate romantic leads into lifeless ciphers..
“Betrayal," unfortunately, is the most apt word for At World's End. Betrayal of purpose, and of promise, and of the grand, glorious finale that everyone wanted so dearly to see."

"Watching Bloom and Knightley go through their paces, one might wonder whether a more colorless pair of lovebirds have ever graced the screen."

Ouch. I thought this one was the worst out of all of them. I guess Pete Vonder Haar is a J/E shipper.

Melba toast and rice cakes? What's next?

Who knows I guess they're just making up their own plot now. Will has to remain the CotFD. We're just ignoring their wishful thinking. It makes me feel like we're the penguins in "Madagascar"

"Just smile and wave, boys. Just smile and wave"

It's all we can do. They can believe whatever they chose to believe. And then maybe someday magical fairies will come and take them away to the land of gumdrops and mermaids and they can all live happily ever after.

Anyways, since you guys enjoyed those quotes I went and dug around some reviews for DMC to get some wonderful little snippets about Sparrabeth. Oh, I also took out the critics names because frankly I think it's probably a copyright thing to put them up and I don't want any trouble.

Here's just a sampling...

“Is something going on between Jack and Elizabeth? Will thinks so. The answer is revealed in the most breathtakingly magical moment of the film.”

“Rather shrewdly, "Dead Man's Chest" puts aside the romance between Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, because the filmmakers know that it's rather boring. Moreover, the writers have gone out of their way to keep the lovers apart (a subplot that can't be revealed here), because once the couple is reunited, their story has nowhere to go. In this segment, Jack Sparrow, Will and Elizabeth form a most peculiar romantic triangle, one marked by erotic tension between Jack and the feisty Elizabeth. Just watch the endless preparations, steps, and missteps that it takes for the two to have a single kiss!”

“Sparrow is not a cartoon, perhaps even less so here than he was in the first film -- here, he struggles a bit with maintaining his aloofness, sparring with Elizabeth over just what pleasures propriety can bring and letting his desire for a taste of her trip him up in a big way.
Once it finds its groove Dead Man’s Chest just gets it all so damn right, bouncing back and forth between Jack Sparrow’s delicious wickedness... and Jack Sparrow’s delicious wickedness setting him up for a big fall courtesy of the character he has fallen under the spell of.
Like The Empire Strikes Back did, Dead Man’s Chest kinda kicks you in the teeth in the end. In a good way, sure, a way that reminds you why you love the movies -- cuz they wrap you up in characters you suddenly realize you care deeply about, cuz they take you away to places you wish you could visit, scary as they are. Dead Man’s Chest takes advantage of its own power to put you on the edge of your seat and leave you hanging there, leave you screaming, No, don’t make us wait three years to find out what happens!”

"Much has been made over Depp's performance as Jack Sparrow. Personally, I find him utterly charming as the slightly goofy, yet alarmingly sexy rogue. He's exceptionally wicked when trying to seduce poor Elizabeth who just wants to marry Will Turner. Or does she?”

"It’s the “Empire Strikes Back” of the “Pirates” franchise, right down to the hanging ending and the unexpected and sizzling romantic angle between Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann."

"Knightley gets a chance to show some depth in her exchanges between Elizabeth and Sparrow, which lead to the movie’s biggest scene (the one you will be talking about all summer long)"

"And Elizabeth Swann (Knightley) stows away as a man aboard Sparrow's ship to find fiance Will, who's presumed lost. She becomes suddenly, instantly attracted to Sparrow. The two most beautiful marquee names in the film clearly must kiss. It's the money shot.”

"Elizabeth finds her own inner pirate when she dresses up as a lad to stow away on ship. "I'm looking for the man I love," she tells Jack, whose retort --"I'm flattered, sir" -- has a teasing kinkiness.”

“The characters most of us were probably hoping to see in action together -- chiefly, Johnny Depp's louche-sexy pirate Jack Sparrow and Keira Knightley's feisty adventuress Elizabeth Swann.”

Perhaps matzah? Or maybe saltine crackers with out the salt?

Yeah. People were not too kind to poor Will and Elizabeth's relationship.

Yeah though I dont go to my SKATE board that often most of the girls in it can be rather rude *Shrugs* but I digress
Tanith I think its funny that they claim WE are reaching when they are pulling off story lines out of a hat *shrugs* I think THEY are the ones in denial ,this is the reason why I hope they make a 4th IF They do fix this we will really be singing "NA NA BOO BOO"

Hey Lis

Haven't heard anything yet about POTC 4.

Guess we'll have to wait and see

POTC4 could have Jack searching for the freakin' heart of the ocean that old Rose tossed over the edge of that boat and it would have, I guarantee it, a better ending than AWE.

Just my two cents.
