Okay, kiddies, listen up. There's a difference between the curse and the job.

The curse can be broken, but the job can't.

The Dutchman must always have a captain. How many times were we told that? One hundred?

Everyone and their mother says it.

We come to understand Davy Jones went fishy because his true love didn't meet him after he did his job for 10 years. Remember the beautiful scene with Tia and Davy. He was a man when he first began the job of CotFD. But her not meeting him cursed him to be tentacly. We know this fact from the Tia/Ragetti/Pintel scene. Member? "Him was a man." Okay, everyone still with me?

You also have to do the job. Davy Jones stopped doing the job and that's why Tia was angry when they saw the bodies floating in the water. Member that scene? That was the job she gave Davy. And if he did his job, he could have one day every ten years to be with her. That's it. One day every ten years. But he didn't do his job. The souls had to find their own way and Davy turned evil.

Bootstrap is another person who brings up the "one day every ten years" aspect. He tells Will he shouldn't have given everything up for one day every ten years; that it wasn't worth it. And Will responds "Depends on the day."

Okay, are we still holding hands and being good little boys and girls?

This is what we are told in the movie. Seriously, did people actually watch the movie?

TnT tried to clarify in one of their posts, but apparently, people don't read what they post. If Tia had stayed true to Davy and met him after 10 years, the curse would have been broken. There's no mention of the job because the job cannot be broken. The job and the curse are different.

Hmm do we hear hamsters running on wheels? Or do we hear tumbleweeds blowing down empty streets?

Here's what I love about Sparrabeth and being a Sparrabether -

We freaking love these movies. Not just the couple. We love the movies.

We love Norrie, we love Barbs, we love Davy and Calypso, we love the things that make "Pirates" "Pirates"

We analyze every little detail, every nuance between Jack and Lizzie. We listen to the commentary, we read the writers' website to get the meaning behind the lines they write. We don't ship J/E cause they look cute together of some such nonsense. We ship them because their story is the stuff that makes classic romances classic. Not every classic couple ends up together. Scarlett and Rhett. Ilsa and Victor. Romeo and Juliet. Tristan and Isolde. Arthur and Guinevere. Even some contemporary couples that have become iconic Jack/Rose, Anakin/Padme, Satine/Christian. It sucks that they don't end up together on screen, but it doesn't make the couple any less epic.

We have a couple that is passionate and complex. They hate each other, no they love each other. No wait, they hate each other again. But when you get down to the root of these characters the heart of these characters you realize that they can only belong with each other. TnT said it themselves, "their hearts are the same."

They're both pirates.

But we don't just love J/E, we love what makes these movies great. The brotherhood, the freedom of being pirates. That's what sets us Sparrabethers apart. We aren't handed things on a silver platter, so we have to delve in deeper to find the meaning that TnT, Johnny and Keira have set out for us.

And frankly, it's more fun that way anyway.

We're not simply just told Jack and Elizabeth are in love. We get to watch them fall in love. And that's much more better

I think what people don't get about us is that the end of AWE upsets us because it just isn't true to any of the characters. We keep saying it, no one gets a happy ending.

We don't just love Jack and Lizzie as a couple. We love them as individual characters as well. And for the girl who longed for freedom and became a pirate King to give up everything she loved so much just sucks. It completely flies in the face of everything Elizabeth stood for. And for Jack who time and time again proved to Lizzie that he was a good man, who did anything and everything for the girl who vexed him - for him to end up without even his ship or crew. It's devastating.
