1. Because he dived into the water after her, to save her.

6. Because they're be no living with her after that.

That Han/Jack, Leia/Elizabeth comparison is awesome. And so true. After all, Luke was always the good guy and Han was, in Leia's words, the "scoundrel." Maybe we'll find out that Will/Elizabeth are really brother/sister.
