Reasons why we love Jack/Elizabeth:

1. Because he dived into the water after her, to save her.
2. Because she called him her "rescuer."
3. Because the way he had her putting his belongings back on him was enough to make you blush.
4. Because they were stranded on an island together.
5. Because when they got drunk, they were hilarious.
6. Because they're be no living with her after that.
7. Because she got rid of all his rum, and he wanted to know why.
8. Because they are the "Rum Runners."
9. Because they love singing the pirate's song together.
10. Because she stood between him and the army ready to take him away.
11. Because both their last names are types or birds...gotta mean something, right?
12. Because of the look he gave when he heard she'd be imprisoned.
13. Because when he saw her again, he had his men hide all the rum.
14. Because he didn't think those clothes suited her, and had "no" dress for her.
15. Because she trusted him.
16. Because of the smile on her face when she was thinking of him.
17. Because he asked her to persuade him...and then he asked her to again.
18. Because she can hold her own against him.
19. Because they can talk about freedom, which is exactly what they find in each other.
20. Because she ended up doing exactly what he told her she would.

I was just re-watching the rescue scene and I love how dead set he is on resucing her, even before he knows she has the gold

and him ripping the corset off of her is pretty much the hottest thing I've ever seen.

Btw, I haven't seen much of POTC2 other than the clip of the kiss and all, but Elizabeth seems really different. Do you get to know why she's acting all different or is it just during that scene?

She's a lot less innocent in DMC. She's willing to do whatever it takes to get the results that she wants. She's a true pirate in this movie. She's not the same girl who will let everyone else dictate her life for her. She's grown up alot since TCOTBP.

Do we get to know what inspired this change? Reason I'm wondering is that I'm not too fond with just "Oops, she'd had some development on her character?"-characters. And then there might be that I'm a tad bit sceptical about Elizabeth as a character LOL *hides*

Well, it's not like the character development came out of nowhere. We actually saw glimpses of it in the first movie. She was less willing as time went on to do what was 'expected' of her. Like dissing the Commodore in favor of Will at the end, helping Jack to escape, playing drunk so she could get Jack sloppy drunk so she could burn the rum, etc. Jack saw it with the whole 'peas in a pod' bit. It's just more pronounced in this movie, and I think that's partly because she's two years older. DMC takes place two years after TCOTBP so it can be assumed that her personality would become more apparent in that time. I certainly think her character development fits with what we saw last movie and this movie.
