I think there has been lots of timelines. I think they originally did fall in love, Alisha gets killed and Simon becomes Superhoodie and plans to save her by time travelling. I think he has probably tried a few times at different points to save her. I think he worked out that he needed to change things, and save her earlier. Which sadly happens before they fell in love. So he know she had to fall for Superhoodie so he could save her and they could still get their future.
I think when he saved Nathan in the orange hoodie in season 1, that was an earlier time travel attempt. The picture in Vegas was their happy ending. __________________
