And all that time spent on side storylines and characters that amounted to nothing. It could all have gone to Ethan and Vanessa, at least.

exactly! even if he lost interest on doing the show, he had to make sure on giving a believable closure. for the fans and people who invested a lot in the characters.

I can believe he had Vanessa's death as endgame in mind, but not that he would get there in such an underwhelming way.

And I knew this would be a tragic pairing, but I still wasn't ready for that much tragedy.

Loving the captions.

See, when Vanessa gave in to darkness in the previous season, you could see well how and why and feel her burden and conflict. At the end of Season 3 she gives in with no real intensity, in resignation.

I thought all those mentions of each other were there to prepare their reunion and teaming up against Dracula... not be there as poor substitute for all the scenes of them together we never got. :/

They put that The Lovers card in the first episode. If the whole series was laid down in John Logan's head since the beginning, than I feel like all the teasing was definitely a low blow.
