I know. Basically we needed two more seasons just so Ethan could have enough strength to pull the trigger unlike that first time? "I love you enough to kill you", to quote Vanessa?
Ending aside, I just wish they had been together for longer before that moment - it was the least they could have done after keeping them in different continents for a whole season. It all went down so fast when they were finally in front of each other.

yes, maybe it was what made it so .. I don't know how to say. We didn't have enough time to react on the fact that they were finally together. It was taken so soon from us.

I didn't even have the chance to prepare myself for that episode being the finale - that "The End" made me stare at the screen of my computer like a dead fish for I don't know how long.
I hate this kind of WTF moments. The fact that they say not announcing that Season 3 would be the last and showing so little of Vanessa in the episode were decisions made so we would be properly surprised and affected by the twists makes little sense to me.

Yeah, I don't buy that they kept everything in secret for dramatic purposes. It was not dramatic, it was cruel and disappointing

I guess I was right in being scared about the finale after my mini-marathon of S3. But I never expected things to go downhill so fast after Vanessa let Dracula bite her - I even thought she might have been pulling a long con on him. That's how naive I was.

And I'm starting to get irritated at the PD official Instagram account going on a "It Was Foretold" posts spree with old quotes of the show - enough, we get it, you want us to know that everything was planned. Sure.

IKR! So emotional! I still believe she had a plan with Cat to kill Dracula and she and Ethan had some happiness together.

If she truly had to given in to Darkness, at least show us more conflict over it, or the consequences of it in all their destructive power. A totally evil Vanessa would have been someone I could see Ethan get the courage to kill, maybe she would still ask him to take her out and have a final moment of redemption, but after a long trail of death and horrible actions that would make us accept her going out that way as the only possible outcome.

It's too hard to swallow a woman who after saying no to all of the evil's offers again and again, gives in just like that instead, after a single half-assed speech that's nothing more than what we've heard before, just delivered with a little more sweetness, and then changes her mind one day later and has to pay with her life.

Indeed! That's what makes me so mad still !! This was not the Vanessa Ives from the first 2 seasons, poor thing !! JL has really disappointed me.
