As for why they're doing Jane The Novelas even though Jane wasn't super huge, it could be because it brought critical acclaim and CW doesn't want to lose that. They do have more time to fill. Or they just want to keep Gina connected to the CW so even if they don't pick up this--maybe something else later. __________________

I mentioned the critical acclaim thing too. That's why because of awards, critics and of course like you said Gina's contract. Because it's definitely not because of ratings. With CxG and JTV gone, they need another critical hit.

I'm starting to doubt the series will resolve Rafael's birth family storyline which is disappointing. If you were not going to do anything with it then he should have stayed Emilio's son. Rose knows but we nor other characters will ever know? Unless some casting news breaks, I'm going to go with it's not happening.

I think they should have just kept him Emilio's son as well after Derek and Catalina I don't think this show does long lost family well
