Edge & Bec (BWH) #1: Because she knew he wanted to go with her!
Edge and Bec, a couple on the Australian hit drama, Blue Water High.  Love of surfing was not the only thing on Dean "Edge" Edgely and Bec Sanderson’s mind when they first met after winning scholarships to attend a year of intensive training and housing sponsored by Solar Blue. They were the unlikely pair, both being extremely hot tempered, stubborn and intent on being the best when it came to surfing. Yet with all the tension they gave the group around them, they always held a soft spot for one another but never openly came out and said anything - straight away of course. They fought, got jealous, and yearned for each other. Edge went about pumping weights and training viciously in order to get her out of his head, and Bec also tried unsuccessfully to get the bleach blonde surfer out of mind. After a huge fight and a series of avoidance, Bec had a surfing incident and was seriously injured - once this happened the truth about their feelings broke to the surface, causing them to become one of the hottest couples in Blue Water High history.  Edge: You want to know the truth? When I found out you were going to the formal with someone else, I wasn’t all that keen to go. Bec: Well - how am I supposed to know if you never tell me how you feel? You can’t expect me to read your mind. Edge: I think I made it pretty obvious. [Pauses] So I didn’t ask you the way you thought I should…but you knew I wanted to go with you. -- Bec's voiceover: A risk carries with it the possibility of danger even death, it is important to weigh up your chances of success. A risk is something you don’t take unless you have a certain amount of control over the outcome. There are two kinds of risk in life; there is physical risk and that’s scary. But the other kind of risk, emotional risk; that’s the biggest risk of all. Quote of the moment - Edge: This whole thing would be a piece of cake if you didn't care either way. But, I'm guessing you do. Which is kind of cool. It's complicated but, cool. Me on the other hand, it's much easier. I don't care about anyone but myself, I don't give a rats. Bec: Yeah, riiight. Which is why you're sitting here helping me work out what to do. Cause you don't care about anyone else. Edge: Momentary lapse. I just wanted the cereal. Because they were stranded at sea together. Because she painted his face on her surf board. Because they hug like they mean it! Because she wanted him to stay with her family so that they could be together. Because he wants to visit her a lot. Because he was jealous of her and Heath at the dance. Because he may not have asked the way she wanted him to but, she knew he wanted to go with her. Because everything is better when it's wetter! Because they are both amazing surfers. Because the thought of her in danger crushed him. Because he was elated when he saw that she was alive. Because they are both fierce competitors. Because they shared cereal, aw. Because they both were up early in the morning. Because he was there for her to talk to even though he only "cared about himself". Because "A year is a long time", why yes it is. Because "It's complicated but, cool" - The definition of Edge and Bec if I've ever heard one. Because he didn't just "want the cereal". Because the only "momentary lapse", was the smiles and eye connection between Bec and Edge. Because they shared a rock (to sit on)! Because maybe he was the reason her palms were sweaty. Because he helped her get her head on straight. Because he blamed himself for her getting hurt. Because 'the more you like someone the more you hate them when things go wrong'. Because Edge thinks he probably likes Bec too much. Because the diet and exercise was to get his mind off of her; of course it didn't work. Because Bec and Edge... It even sounds amazing. They cute together, Edge reminds me of the male character from each Blue Lagoon movie.

That totally helps I don't think I ever saw the second season  After season one, they started airing it at another time when I couldn't watch Then they aired S1 again a couple of times, but never S2 |

I think I forgot to mention this before but, those caps are wonderfull. They look sooo cute in them. I love the hug. It's not one of those week 'eh' hugs. His arms are completely around her and his face is burried in her neck. Aw. I hate TV couples that give blah hugs. Glad to see that Edge and Bec give good ones. Haha dont mind my random weirdness.
Also I found an interveiw with Kate Bell (Bec) and there was a tiny bit pertaining to Bec and Edge. So, here it is. Q: How's the water temperature at this time of year? Do you have to pretend it's Summer while you're freezing to death? Kate: Yes most definetely.Khan(Edge) and i spent a day together filming in the water when it was 15C. We were out there for six hours treading water, freezing our butts off. It was really hard that day, trying to concentrate and deliver lines especially when your shaking cold and slowly turning blue. __________________

 just thought I'd bump this thread to the first pageand also DiBye23(what's your real name? ) I think you're right about their hugs! when they hug, you just feel the love behind while with some couples, there's nothing behind them!I would be freezing my butt of too if I had to spend six hours in such cold water! But I can imagine them trying to keep each other warm somehow  |
