Betty got her house and invited Kate to live with her and Kate accepted. The entire episode was basically on fast-forward because they tried to cram in as much plot as possible.

Typical. Ofc BG would let me down. They couldn't even have them actually be a couple.

I can't say I'm not happy that finally they get that house, I am, but c'mon as platonic roomies until Kate finds a good husband????? Are they joking!?. I'm trying not to be too upset, but eh, it seemed to really rub it in at the end having Kate make out with another man, even if it was fake.
Otherwise I really did enjoy the Betty/Kate interaction generally, but I'm slightly confused. I mean I thought the entire movie was actually building up to something romantic and then nothing, so I'm like... what just happened? And what about Betty? Is she just going to live a lonely life being forever in love with Kate, and not moving on? The thought alone kills me.

And don't get me started on Vera, I mean don't even.

I mean yes, it's possible they could do another movie, but even so, this was what Bomb Girls knew it had for sure as a way to wrap storylines up, and they didn't have the guts to finish what they started with McAndrews. And really I'm hesitant to use the term queer baiting, but, I feel that's where we are -- even if I think Betty as a character has been brilliant representation, just I'm annoyed they didn't do justice to her romantic relationships. I didn't even let myself fully enjoy the Teresa storyline because I was so firmly rooted in the Mcandrews camp and I was so sure of it. They should have down right said either way what the deal was with Kate after 1x06, but no, they kept us hanging on every single episode, every single scene, and it's not like the scenes haven't alluded to mutual feelings because christ on a stick, we're not seeing things that weren't there in the show!! It was obvious in all but deed. I just can't believe that we're here after three years with nothing to show for everything that occurred between them.

It's an open ended situation for them. I was really moved by Betty's undying devotion for Kate but I was really hoping that they could move past that platonic, unrequited love for once. Maybe I was hoping to see some signs on screen.

The idea was nice especially because I saw a huge growth on Kate's personality in the movie. It could definitely help shape their relationship. But alas, the writers just left it for our own imagination.

Now I just want to read McAndrews fic just to satisfy my curiosity.

I love her so much and it hurts to know she's gone. I was hoping she's gonna take over VicMu like a boss.

It shouldn't have to be left to our imagination though. The entire point of Betty is visibility, but we still have this problem for it to be ok for a show to have a gay character, but not an actual relationship. I'm just so damn frustrated, they had ample opportunity to do it and they've flat out decided to not go there, and I don't see any good reason for it.

I agree. We never really saw her in a relationship with the girl that we were all rooting for since Season 1. TBH i was hoping that they'll reveal Kate as queer. One scene perhaps and that's it.

I really don't expect them to kiss or declare their love for each other. But maybe I just want a sign or an unquestionable act of love from Kate and that she's getting there. At least it will leave a lasting impression in my mind that Betty might finally get the girl of her dreams. But they still left it ambiguous since Kate "might" still marry a guy one day. Imagine if that really happens. Poor Betty. LoL.

I'm also curious as to what would've been his McAndrews ending. He was shipping them real hard so yeah, I also wonder.
